That was a game we should have and needed to win. Now the group is even steven, apart from Germany, who are a class above. Hope we can produce a real game against Austria.

I wouldn't blame anyone for taking a nearly free 0-0 first half but after the 15 minutes of second half when Spain ran out of steam there was definitely a chance for more of those quick 2-3 pass plays through the defense. For the talent pool their game is too passive and that's why I usually don't follow their games. Anyway, that match was fun because of the sadistic pleasure I get from seeing Spain fail :d On March 23 2013 06:36 sharkie wrote: Wow, this result could be dangerous for Spain's qualification chance, no? o.O No? They are pretty much guaranteed a place in the 8 best second place finishers and there doesn't seem to be a team that could beat them there.

Like, they aren't talentless hacks and could make more chances from counter attacks, the times they tried it looked quite good. Unlikely as Portugal is most likely seeded as is Spain, so they are not going to play against.

There can totally be some crazy matchups in playoff like Spain - Portugal, Spain - Croatia, Spain - Belgium etc. Even England is 2nd ATM. Actually Portugal is not even sure to make the playoffs Edit: Just understood what you said, like you said they use the fifa ranking for the seeds, I tought it was a random draw

Man, that would be so hype, each weekend blockbuster games, it seems that as time goes by the security risks are becoming less and less and the police seem to be more and more in control of the situations. I mean packed stadiums without away fans is much better than the empty stadiums and poor football our leagues have now Yeah, if they could solve problem with hooligans it would be awesome. And who knows, maybe in time you could actually go to the stadium and have a good time with everyone. Like back then when it was about sports rivalry, not which nationality you are.

The 8 teams will be paired into 4 home-and-away series. The 4 winners will qualify for the World Cup. There has been no mention of seeding this draw to date, as happened in qualification for the 2010 World Cup, but the rules may change at a later point.

Still they used Seeded-unseeded 2010 qualifiers and so this time too. I don't think UEFA wants to send weak countries to compete world cup.

Imho it makes no sense to speculate about the possible matchups as of today, since the regular groupstage isn't even half done. No matter if spain or france finishes seconds, nobody will want to face either team.

2-0 half time, he created the first goal and assisted Higuain, then provoked a penalty and destroyed the net!

All the Central American teams make us play in the day in 90 degree heat, and we always make them play in as cold a northern place as possible at night. Also I hope the horizontal stripes are gone for good.
