Haha true, maybe he'll give me a call now explaining why he's right and tell me that he told me this already. Then he'll proceed to tell me what he has won so far.

Good god my sides. | ||

Swedish referee Anders Frisk - Invited the Barça manager, Frank Rijkaard, into his room at half-time, an act that is against UEFA regulations. Swiftly retired after the match Norwegian referee Terje Hauge - After the scandal with the Del Horno-Messi playacting UEFA put him in charge of the Champions League final in which Arsenal played Barcelona no less, and guess what happened? Norwegian referee Tom Henning Øvrebø - Disgrace. This whole match-fixing thing made me go back and watch highlights of this game again... Words cannot explain. Swiftly retired after the match Looking through the match-fixing allegations Barcelona has been accused of serious high-level rigging 5 times a year on average in the last 10/15 years “I just have one question: Why?,” he added. ”Why Ovrebo [Chelsea vs. Barcelona referee in 2007 semi-final], Busacca [Barcelona vs. Arsenal in this year's Champions League], Stark? In each semi-final it is the same. We are talking about an absolutely fantastic team. Why didn’t Chelsea make the final? Why did Inter have to be saved by a miracle? ”Why do the opponents of Barcelona always have a man sent off? Where does this power come from? Maybe it is to give more publicity to UNICEF, maybe because of the power of (Spanish federation president Jose Angel) Villar in UEFA.” ”Josep Guardiola is a fantastic football coach, but the Champions League he won was an embarrassment because of what happened at Stamford Bridge – it was a scandal. And if he wins it this year, he will win after the scandal at the Bernabeu. Let’s hope he gets the chance to win a clean Champions League (in future), without scandals. -Mourinho Again no formal investigation, no nothing. Maybe I will quote this post in 10 years when Barcelona are stripped of their titles but that would be ten years too long. European football has no hope, I stopped watching it after the disgrace at the Stanford Bridge and it just goes to show you what a feat and magical run it was for Chelsea to win the CL last year. I'd like to add I'm probably still under the influence of watching highlights of Ovrebo

People who actually give a shit about football should be able to see the value of that "D-Squad" playing.

That's a very important factor for Loew who is very biased. The reason is Kießling is not the type of player Löw wants in the national team. It's not like he was ever a fan of Gomez either.

Both Benfica and Porto in particular have done a crazy good job the last half a decade especially with respect to South Americans. Taking the wonder kids out of South America and throwing them into top clubs straight away is so risky. It often ends up wasting a huge chunk of the players development stage and the club doesnt get much out of it either, Want your South American done right ? Send him to Portugal. Its obvious they know their shit they make good players and seem to profit when they let them go (dont seem to mind it to much either).

But Benfica and Porto have competed at the Champions league level for years? Since 2000s anyway when i was following it religiously. They always made the knock out stages, and most notably the last 8 on some occasions. Not a bad place for a "feeder" club is it? Benfica pushed Barcelona and Chelsea in last seasons competition.

Unfortunately with the current economic climate in Portugal, stadium attendance and sponsorship deals are suffering. Being a mere feeder club forever is a somewhat ungrateful position. IMO they should move to La Liga. ![]() IMO they should too, and so should Rangers and Celtic move to the english league. Also, I'm withn Darkinity on this one...fuck national friendlies. They may be useful but they a) injure players, b) interrupt the football season and create black holes of entertainment and c) are not exciting to watch. And because the level of intensity from the players is usually less it's a pathetic chance to actually observe up and coming players or even the tactical validity of certain systems. Like when we beat Spain 1-0 just before the WC.
