So far at least the combat isn't getting any better, but it's not boring me yet either. Great game, great story though.
I'm playing it with keyboard + mouse, I've never had much trouble with playing 3rd person action games that way and it feels pretty good to me. Yeah, maxed out heavy attack is my only skill in the offensive tree, everything else is in magic. Quen healing shield OP. I went for the full quick attack tree, so now I've got crit chance and crit damage that still doesn't damage anything and a helicopter attack that's near uncontrollable. At least I've got the Quen shield as well. Yay! Yeah, I put points into light attack early and realized pretty quickly heavy attack was much better for my playstyle. Thank god for respec potions. Heavy attack is better since you can get one good hit in, dodge back, and then attack in again. The lack of stagger throws me off compared to Bloodborne.

So are we actually allowed to say stuff that newcomers wouldn't recognize and some heavy-handed German moderators might call an inside joke?
tl:dr Chexx killed OT. And from the ashes LLL was born.

Fallout Boy has a song for that. Super good.

What can I discuss here? We generally talk about Pokemon, food, work, tv shows, school, games, and other random bits and bobs. It's basically like a lounge in a college dorm, where you can kick back and chat with people.

On a gaming note, does anyone here play age of wonders 3? If so, are the expansions worthwhile?

I don't have any serious multiplayer experience with either the base game or the expansions, but I really enjoyed the Frostling campaign in Eternal Lords. The necromancy mechanics (lack of healing, deaths contribute to population, playing around vulnerabilities) are very puzzle-y, and I quite like that kind of gameplay.
Unfortunately, as far as I'm aware, there still aren't any reasonable ways to play serious multiplayer (auto-resolving combat is not acceptable).

Mmm, I was going to pick up the expansions on sale but I think I'll wait then.

How professional is long hair for a dude for an interview? thinking about growing it long, and then tying it back like a ponytail, but that would coincide with possible med school interview timeline...
|
Something totally random that really bugs me atm:
Today was the first time I saw a snake in my home area. A grass snake, I think more than 1 m long. And then I ran it over with my bycicle. On accident of course. Saw it early enough to identify it but was too fast to stop.
Just feels bad, you never see these things and once you do its dead a second later.

I love that this is the thing you needed OT for =D

I think it greatly depends on the company environment or whatever you're interviewing for. It also depends on how well kept it is - I've seen some dude with some pretty sexy long hair.
I can't speak to medical industry at all though.

I now have a card for the gym at work. Now, whether it'll get used or I just say I'll use it is a completely different story.

I bought witcher 3 and should probably play it but my computer can only handle it on medium (well I can get 30 frames on high but that's when I'm not doing anything) so that's made me too depressed to play it.

If your going to do this I suggest learning to braid it. looks a lot better i think and causes less problems (not sure which one a working place would care more about though, I wear mine in a ponytail at my job and no one cares although I don't really have to interact with anyone). also it takes forever for your hair to grow long. I haven't had a real haircut in like 4 years (excluding shapings) and my hair still isn't as long as I want it to be

My office is full of military and straight edges. Here it would be met with very odd glances. It probably depends on where your applying to.

I have friends that play almost console games exclusively and they claim to not be able to tell the difference between 30 vs 60 FPS and it blows my mind.

I want both. I get 60 on medium so I'll probably play it eventually. I can't tell the difference obviously but If I'm playing a game and switch from 30 fps to 60 i can feel a difference

I cant really tell 40 vs 60 either. Maybe if I saw it right next to each other, but just watching something on 40 doesnt bug me one bit. And then there are people that can tell if something is sub 100 or not. I dont get it.

I never really believe people when they say they can't tell the difference.

I hate how choppy 60 fps looks compared to 65 fps. I couldn't imagine anything less than 59.
It's all just relative. High speed games are where you notice the fps differences. I couldn't tell the difference between 30 and 60 fps minesweeper.
