Mage is still as bullshit as ever in Arena because the game will go late and he will still have all the fucking bullshit frost spells. Spent 4 turns not doing anything, and after that he had 7+ mana so I couldn't do shit with any of my creatures (despite 3 +2/+2 boosts on my flame imp, he consistently had the small damage to keep him under 4 HP, so no way I'd use my faceless thingy to copy him, so I couldn't do anything at all no matter what I drew).

They said the created Freeze because they didn't unfun counter magic in their game.
Freeze is way more bullshit of a mechanic that Counter Spells ever were. Atleast with countermagic I know that when I do finally resolve something that I can actually use the card. Freeze doesn't allow that.
It's the hero power that's the issue more than anything. They get to trade up at will. You could remove the freeze mechanic form the game and mage would still be the best class in arena.

Really it's a matter of power levels. I'm pretty sure nobody expected that the equivalent of Sleep would become degenerate at the design stage. Certain players may dislike countermagic but the beauty of countermagic is not in what they themselves do, but the design space they open up to the designers when you have checks and balances for ridiculously powerful cards already in place. Look how much grief Mind Control at mana cost 8 created when control win cons of equivalent strength in MtG buys are much more aggressively costed, and CMC 8 gives you far more crazy things.
The Hearthstone to MtG comparisons are actually a lot like League to DotA, tbh. The takeaway being that you can't remove something that in a vacuum you consider to be unfun without carefully assessing the package as a whole. Generally powerful mechanics in a reasonable balanced game tie into the balance of other powerful mechanics and going from a high-powered game to a low-powered game takes a lot more careful tweaking than just removing some of the mechanics you don't like and toning down some numbers.
I shouldn't have opened Steam...I want to buy CSGO (never played a CS game, only started playing shooters online with MW2 on 360), Arkham Origins, and Bioshock trilogy for a combined like $50. Really considering it...

I'm thinking of getting Skyrim legendary... btw, there's a seemingly cute little game in adventure called the little thief, anyone know anything?

I'm so sorry...
Dude, I only got a good PC this summer lol, I need to play more PC shooters, I have BF4, but no one to play with, and BF games suck without people...I might try playing CSGO, once I train myself to the controls I should be decent at it...

The #1 thing that annoys me about CS is that the gun never fires anywhere near the crosshair. WHY IS IT EVEN THERE
Minecraft baffles me sometimes. I'm transforming a hill into a flat area so I can incorporate it into my fields. Using the stone I quarry from this hill, I'm building an extremely long bridge across a river. This same bridge will eventually cut across a swath of jungle, so I have easy access to the western side of the world (mostly jungles and some interesting prespawned buildings) from the snowy plains of my home.
