i don't think i've met a single person who's read the seven military classics
and these arent even lit its just shitty chinese philosophy
Yes. You recced historiography, i upped the ante. Also Confucius says you have no filial piety. What now?
To make up for it, I'll recommend the Jin Ping Mei. Enjoy racy yet humorous 16th century Chinese literature that doubles as a social critique.
jin ping mei sounds boring i never felt the desire to read it
Boring? wat. Jing Ping Mei? Even if you aren't interested by the over 70 detailed accounts of varied sexual acts, the amusing irony interlaced with scathing condemnation of the ruling classes (and merchants) should be of interest.
that describes so many books that are probably better written
i was never big on chinese lit all i did was read wuxia lol ~_~
Fine I'll keep my lurid 16th century Chinese satrical socially critical literature to myself. No death by aphrodisiacs for you. Hrmph.

I've got to say, I had high expectations of part 3 due to how amazing the ending of part 2 was, but this actually ended up being way, way beyond my expectations. The story is incredible, great character development and I really loved the plentiful small sidestories about numerous side characters, most of them were touching and interesting. Considering what the game's supposed target audience is, it's incredible how I'd rate this story above the likes of Final Fantasy VII's story.
If one can get past the main theme of the game(reverse rape by monstergirls), it's well worth it. The story's extremely interesting and thought-provoking.

Monster girls best ecchi.
Req pls, Inverted Lamia best lamia.
Although the fun part about MonMusu for me now is the puzzle that comes up whenever I have to explain it to someone. In which order do I put the bits that led me to it so that they run away the latest possible? I guess I should sum it up with "But everything changed when terrorists bombed a school."

The story was fine and the writing was decent, but there were those moments where the awful "dramatic music" came on, and the writers started taking everything far too seriously, which made those moments cheesy and unbearable. As long as it didn't take itself TOO seriously, I thought it was pretty decent.
Then again, for me it was largely overhyped when I played it. I came in expecting a good story, considering all the hubbub occuring around it.
Decide to play one of those at random to see if the anima adaptations you watched were of average games or jewels amidst a sea of trash. Remember the name from a reddit thread proposing Alice skin for Cassiopeia. Go in without any expectations bar a minimal story. Profit <o/
I'm glad they started getting serious, though. That part really isn't so bad (eg. it won't blow your mind and if it's your 20th game with this kind of story you'll find it cliche*), but the trashtalking of Luca quickly became repetitive. Considering it was the game's main propeller by Lazarus' first sighting, the change didn't happen too early, and it didn't make the parody stop either, to the contrary. Personally, I found the mix of turning tropes on their heads, playing them straight, and alluding to them while sidestepping the issues very enjoyable. Then again, I've spent my fair share of time on TVTropes so this kind of meta is super fun to me (still doesn't reach Umineko though, dang).
* I mean, even when it doesn't plan to. It's not like most of the first 2 parts amounts to playing tsundere with the genre's tropes.

For all the shit you're trying to give us and the ideal of ambition and stuff the US have, "Impossible n'est pas français" sure isn't coming from your mouth. Wuss.

Excuse me, I was talking about Canadians. The French are a whole other clusterfuck

That's the reason why I always end up mentioning TVTropes, since it made me sharper about jabs and references and stuff. I didn't laugh at the game at all (save one-two things, like Amira), in the end it was more "appreciation" and sometimes a smile. I mean, I did say it's not excellent or anything.
