Not everyone is the same level, just everyone on each team. If you kill someone you still give your team an advantage in experience, and w/e map control exists on their maps.

Not everyone is the same level, just everyone on each team. If you kill someone you still give your team an advantage in experience, and w/e map control exists on their maps.

Definitely linearizes advantages though. I think Blizzard is smart enough to know that Heroes can't compete on equal ground as LoL and DotA, looks like they're trying to make fun novelties that might draw some crowds. Looks like there are plenty of maps from the trailer, so that might be another big thing.

If anyone ever played their holiday-themed dots style wc3 maps, this doesn't feel all that different. Those were much more streamlined casual-friendly affairs than the big kids. Given Blizzard's core ideas of making things approachable first, fun second and then worrying about depth/strategy/skill differentiation, what they've made known so far is not surprising.

Edit: Also they clearly need to do a few things waaaaay outside the 'norm' because there's 0% chance they can out traditional LoL or Dota.

Yeah, but that also nonsensically kills depth. Pretty much kills the idea of powercurves; Carries are balanced by the ability to stop them from being Carries.

Only way having fixed experience and no items/gold works with this concept is if you just have no carries. Otherwise a stall comp with 2 heros able to waveclear well and then just 3 carries best team all day every day. And call me crazy, but if that's the case then thats the exact opposite of their design philosophy of short average game times.

Anyone got a bunker I can hide in. Those guys in the blizzcon thread are getting close to sounding like they want to blow up blizzard for having ruin their gaming lives! Please consider me in your plans to stay in your bunker, I promise I'm quite useful and can make it through nuclear winter aftermath.
