This isn't just intuition, it is fact. 3:2 means one object is larger(and larger is quantifiable via a drawing), and a hypotenuse is the longest side of a triangle(so one shouldn't just intuit that 9 and C are the longest sides, they would be considered silly for thinking otherwise). This question wasn't a math or arithmetic question at all, it was a critical thinking question forcing one to arrive at a wrong answer first(probably either one of sqrt45 or 6 and 1 third) but realizing that can't possibly be correct given the number 8 in comparison to A and a 3:2 ratio(in either direction). | ||

the priority shouldn't be confuse and alienate all the people who just about get how to do the problem in the regular way better to tell students to draw out the triangles and then see for themselves and solve the prolbem way easier that way they learn how useful diagrams can be you can add uncertain details to the question that make it hard to draw until you solve the problem purely on paper for more advanced problems | ||

You make a good point. This one is qualitatively different from questions like "What is the maximum number of roots in the polynomial f(x)=x^2+x^4-1," most likely because the difficulty in it doesn't really have anything to do with your understanding of how similar triangles behave, but instead is deliberately obfuscating for no reason. Like those Brawl maps which revert your controller orientation because that's ~~fun~~. | ||

How's that QQ? I'm just surprised because although I've already seen bots farming accounts in LoL while leveling smurfs, it was never something that blatant, and I mention it. QQ would have been complaining that my allies fountain camped them instead of hitting the structures. What would be the point of farming these accounts btw? I know there was an exploit a few weeks back where people would use unusual settings to ensure they'd queue against their alts and gift themselves free wins for easy MMR boosts, but it's been fixed from what I read since. Ranked matchmaking smurfs or to-be-sold accounts that get leveled to 13 this way? | ||
