And in FF3, abilities didn't carry over. I haven't really played FFX-2 so it might be true there.
Anyway, I have yet to find key abilities through Chapter 3, the only one that's really given me any use was Two-Handed. Life Drain is decent.

Monk is basically an end-game class. Don't expect much out of it early. Red Mage is pretty useless outside of the abilities you unlock lol. I've only used Valk for the Water Crystal boss, but against trash mobs I feel that Thief/Ranger gives more DPS. I don't know why the Bow is so strong, switching Agnes from Monk to Thief and equipping bow had her doing 3-4x damage.
I also didn't know that characters had natural base stats. After playing RPGs for so long I like having wimpy looking fragile people play DPS/brawlers and manly tanky looking characters as supports, so maybe that's why my Tiz Merchant is as strong with basic attacks as my Edea Valk? Or maybe I need to put Tiz as Valk with RDM skills and move Edea into Knight/Monk or something.
Ahh... this game is much fun.

I feel like this is a bad idea. I don't think it's that tacky to date your roommate. You live together already! Context is bad, but you're a douche

No guyz FF13 gets way better past the 130 hour mark trust me

I liked the battle system in 13. The rest of it was just no bueno.

Valk skills are hilariously strong, but it's balanced out by how much BP they cost, especially if you use the BP amp ability. I mainly just use Anges as a pure support/mage for bosses that require magic to not get utterly destroyed by, but I can usually get by with my Ranger/Valk/swordmaster(swapping for Ninja as soon as I get it) units so far.
Mutsu-no-Kami's are so expensive, I need so much money to buy 2 of them for when I make Tiz into a Ninja

I feel like this is a bad idea. Asking a professional chef to cook for you is like asking a tax adviser to do your taxes for you. It's only ok if they say it's ok. Otherwise you're basically making them work again but for free.
Do something nice in return.

Ahh... this game is much fun. Angel Bow has ridiculous stats for how early you can acquire it. It's pretty much one of the best weapons until... almost end-game tbh. And even then it's "just" mediocre.
Bravely Default is different from a lot of RPGs in that your stats are based on your character level (major) and your job level (minor). So if you change classes you have a small stat drop but if you're fairly high level you can ignore the drop in stats. So job swapping is a lot less punishing.
Also your stats are only determined by character level, job class, and job level. So you there's no penalty for not levelling up. (Which is much friendlier than games where your stat gain upon level up depends on what class you were at the time, which forces you to math out and plan which class you are at level up urgh.)
Edea is naturally fast with medium-strong strength. Tiz is jack of all trades, ok at everything. Ringabel is high strength, medium speed. Agnes is strong magic, weak physical, poor speed.

62k pg for a weapon is not expensive.

I know it isn't that bad, especially considering how Merchant works, I guess I need to just suck it up and up the amount of encounters I'm facing from normal to 200%. Optional bosses not giving pg is kind of weird, though, I can't think of a game that doesn't give some sort of monetary reward for killing bosses, I'm sure there are some out there, but I can't think of any :/.

Lol wow I just realized BW is still being played competitively from TL frontpage.
Saw Bisu/Sea and automatically assumed it was an SC2 league with a ton of BW->SC2 players in it. Didn't realize they went back.
So out of the loop (in terms of SC).

Fill us in, what's the story here? Jangbi, Bisu, Sea are all playing in a BW tournamenet? Is this a one off thing? What's its relationship to KeSPA?
Don't play with my heart.

He offered (edit: by, I mean) himself, apparently, so it's not like you went out of your way to get this done for your date, or you asked him for a favor (you owe him one though).
FF VII and VIII could theorically let you switch jobs, I guess, but that has more to do with how broken you can be by the end of the game that you can override base stats anyway (I remember filling every single materia spot for my characters and even Vincent would hit at 6k+ end game, without using his ultimate weapon, despite being more of a mage archetype).
And now I know why I'm 100% with Sona but 0% with Thresh in s4, apparently French healers are always good in online games, according to a friend's party member (FF XIV). ._.

Rust is an amazing game. It's early, early, early as fuck Alpha but still is somehow insanely fun.
You gather wood, stones and food and make houses and guns. People can bust down your house with C4 (pretty hard to make) and kill you and jack all your shit when you're offline. Yesterday some guys were throwing a gladiator battle so I signed up and killed two dudes with my hatchet. Koreans are always running around as bandits fucking shit up.
Hacking is the only real problem so far but they're working on it. Supposedly 4500 people just got banned due to new hacker detection stuff. Also, it's not even near completion and servers get reset quite often (maybe every 2 weeks).
This game is also addicting. Like "just one more turn" addicting but multiplied. "Just one more gathering trip to finish off this new section to my fort..." Also everything's tied to each server so you get to know the people on the server pretty well. There's some aussies building a fort near by me who I initially wasn't friendly with until they trapped me in their rape dungeon and we had a good ol' time.
This game is GOLD.
