I was the Varus that game. A definite thing to pick up is that someone should've taken the lead on calling what to do, we both had 2 completely different ideas during the whole laning phase.
The game as a whole for our team was fine. We pushed lanes well, didn't initiate many (if any, don't remember well) horrible fights. I personally think our draft wasn't good, it didn't end up mattering much since we got ahead pretty quickly. In the end it was a good enough comp to stay ahead with though through the virtue of good enough diving and the threat of eve picking off people.

I then walked back to lane and fed him by spamming laugh and standing in place. And after that I did nothing and went full retard while 5hat landed snares and killed people. One thing I didn't get was why 5hat went top to gank aatrox that one time when we were 4 man ganking bot when he could have gotten mid tower (was at ~25% health) and then swung bot for kills.

I got that feeling too that we weren't on the same page and it was clunky but it turned out all right. I'm going to be hesitant in taking the lead since I'm the Bronzie though 
Took me a 5s with McMilo and co. to realize my mic was on push-to-talk and not voice recognition... XD

IIRC I felt like I was actually ahead in our lane in spite of you getting a kill on me (I didn't see that you had red pot and underestimated how much burst you had at level 6) once I came back into lane and landed two binds in a row with an ult for a kill, and while you were roaming bot I decided that more important than the tower was getting top lane, because mid lane just falls down always against Morgana eventually and if I got top tower we'd have opportunities to take back dragon control later. I just felt like mid was a check I could cash at any point and top was still being contested.
You were beating me in farm and kills because of roam but I had more damage on your tower and I feel like Morgana is a bigger threat in teamfights than Zed if I get my core of Zhonya's/Abyssal into Rylais, especially when I'm landing binds like I do. I need to work on my item awareness and burst estimation against Zed though, you blew me up that first time because I underestimated how much damage you would do/didn't see the red pot and thought I would take you down if I landed a good combo.

That first engage was mehhhhh because zed can dodge morg ult with his R, there's no real way for you to damage me lol.
I get the mid tower can be gotten any time line of thinking but we ended up holding it for a while after and getting it immediately would have given more map control. I could tell that you were stronger than me so my roam bot was basically desperation move, I was pretty surprised you didn't just come bot and kill a bunch of people. :p So yah going top worked I just think mid+bot was the obvious play.

I forget what happened bot lane that game... was that the one that I was Lulu with Roffles on Trist vs. Sona Cait?
EDIT: no this was a different game, where I was lulu, roffles was trist, and vowels was Udyr.
I remember I get too aggressive and overextend at times (not usually good times/with coordination from my AD) but I don't really remember specific instances of mistakes from that game.
I think there was one time that we tried to jump on Sona for a kill, sona flashed and I called for a target switch to Cait. After that, we had a bit more lane presence but I think the target switch may not have been the best call - Sona was really low, Cait had netted backwards but still had flash, and a kill on Sona by Trist (or even by me) would have gotten us back in the game botlane better than just forcing recalls.
That certainly wasn't the biggest mistake I made that game, but it's the only thing I remember from laning phase.

Poor communication. We were doing fine cause we got a counter kill that they gifted us to get us back in the lane. The problem was the global presence from mid lane was too strong.

I have to say, being in the game and seeing the "crush mid, crush every other lane" is pretty enlightening. Although maybe TF is cheating in that regard.

Vowels is right, I just watched the replay and he had dblade + longsword + rejuv when he killed me. The red is from my ignite haha.
Okay and now I remember the other reason I went top when you guys were bottom, my blue had just come up and I wanted to get that --> Kill Aatrox with Upperbound --> take top. Me coming bottom was one of the possible plays but it was dangerous because I didn't have any core items finished yet so Zed + Nunu being in gank spots probably would have blown me up, plus I knew you guys had wards all in the red jungle because you had just killed Lee with them. I thought it was better to help Upperbound get his lane control back + take top before it became too much of a nuisance to go out of our way to do it and I'm greedy for blues at this point in the game. It paid off, you guys got one kill bottom, I got one top, you got a dragon and I got top tower.
