I've practically given up playing her for now because without a support (and I'm getting a lot of people who aren't willing to play anything resembling a support) it becomes impossible to play against premades. I can carry once I get items, but if enemy Sivir pushes to tower every single wave, and my Ziggs Qs the caster minions so that I cannot hit a single last hit on them and dies 10 times in 15 minutes, things are tough. It's just so much easier to carry with Tristana.
Also, people counter jungle so much here it's actually hilarious. Hilariously sad because people don't understand you can't counter jungle when you're behind the enemy jungler because he's killed you twice already for trying to steal a camp he's doing.

I know people who straight up say it gets boring when they win too much especially with meta champs. So they NEED to play off meta or some shit champion or else its not fun anymore (note: this only applies to ranked, playing the zed support in normals does not count for them).
Or people who refuse to look up a basic build on probuilds.com or even the more mediocre champion.gg and think going RoA Rylais is a good idea on leblanc. Even when reminded every time they play leblanc, they 'forget' or whatever and do their same old shitty ass build and wonder why they don't seem as useful.
Again, if my plat and low diamond friends are like this it is no surprise how shitty soloq is for people who want to play the game in a 'try hard' way.

Also, TIL that blue cards don't work on inhibitors. If you're trying to take down an inhibitor ASAP, locking in a Blue card for the DPS means a lot of missing ? pings on your corpse after Kha'Zix homeguards from fountain.

no he is genuinely like that (irl friend)
dude randomly plays like a month of azir (he's a shit azir) in ranked only to drop from plat 2 to like gold 4 and then decides to play normally a bit, then says he's bored again and plays the historically awful ryze. he keeps doing this. as soon as his champ gets good? he drops it for a new shit champion. right now he only plays ezreal adc.
our flex 5 group basically made a deal with him that if we win 2 games he can go whatever troll shit he wants to get his 'fix'

Your friend is weird.
Nobody actually dislikes winning with meta champions.
While generally true, I personally get bored being forced to play meta champs constantly, feel like ADC is pretty stale in that regard. Especially true when I'm first or second pick, I've been punished so hard so often for wanting to play someone I enjoy like Sivir or Jinx, basically locking in Trist (which was my most played champ this season before becoming super meta) every game is god awful. And with the Ez buff I'm soooooo tempted to play him in bot lane again, but people flame you if you do poorly and say it was lost in the draft phase.
|
Chiming in, I get enough of the meta champs from LCS and Worlds and streams so when I play I only pick obscure champs. I was a GP main before the rework, now he's a potential LCS pick so I'm all like NYEEH!
|
Ezeral adc is more than playable the meta is just to hate on it
|
On a nice winstreak of 5 games. Then Sejuani gets counterjungled by Shaco and can't level up, goes mid, feeds enemy midlaner after our midlaner backed, then ragequits. Yay.
|
I have to say, as a top laner who hasn't played this game for a year, coming back to this nonsense is ridiculous. I have an Ezreal jungle arcane shifting into me like a bonobo and dying 1v2 (me being the 1). It doesn't matter, enemy team has ardent censer and 2 ADCS and they took 2 turrets and got 2-3 more kills, and a dragon so the game is basically over 12 minutes in. What the hell is this ADC scaling? I've never felt like the game was so out of control after so few kills.
Probably never playing this game again at this rate. Bad enough when the game was over if your team fell 10 kills behind, feel like your team isn't constructed right you just lose the game after a few kills now.

Yeah, sometime ago I understood that being D5/4 made me top 1.5% lol player rank wise. I really did not know it and I was really impressed, but not because of my skill, but because I realized how bad people are at this game actually, providing how much effort I put in it. In the past, during the broodwar era I was trying to be pretty competitive, played a lot, learned from replays, watched pro games and comentaries, participated in forums, watched my own games to see my mistakes, trained my apm and still B+ was the most I ever reached. Now I am really old - 38y, I barely play lol, the only knowledge I have for this game is what champions do, what items do, I have minimap awareness I suppose, I read the patch notes and basically thats it, normally I would assume that with that effort and knowledge I should be maximum Gold level, around the 50% or even a bit lower, however, I am low Diamond, which is absolutely incomprehensible to me and I am 110% sure that if i put the same effort I was putting in broodwar I will reach d1 or master tier, which could never be possible in the competitiveness I am used the games to be.

Play a number of reasonable games, say 20 or 30 for a while after going for a many month break. Wonder if it's as bad as you remember.
Then hit the run of trolls. Yay.

To be fair, B+ is probably way way better than top 1.5% BW players. Remember that 99.5% of BW players thought that "carriers = instant win" unironically. The population of people willing to download and play on iCCup was probably already the top 1.5%.

There were a loooot of real shit BW players that would barely touch 1v1s on bnet, let alone iccup.

Honestly I've burned out over the last two years, and I mostly play ARAM because it's relaxing. I'm clocking in over 2k games now on the mode lol. Once I make it to Diamond I kind of give up and play other games. I think my MMR in the mode is pretty high, I get obvious ARAM accounts and games can be quite good when the comps are evenly matched. Every now and then you get someone who takes ARAM dead serious though, and that's annoying.
And yeah, when I made it to Diamond the first time, I was really surprised at how low the level of play is. It's even more apparent when you watch streamers like Tarzaned, who will point out lower elo player mistakes, and realise I too am a boosted animal. And yet Diamond 5 is the top 1.5-2% of the player base, that's pretty insane.
