Maru got caught with like 10 supposedly "singlehandedly game ending" fungal but was still able to drag it all the way to the end. How does that make him a better player? Because burrowed infestors fungals = bullshit So much easier to get them than to catch them and defend against them, the fact that Maru was able to make the game close while playing on this difficult map and against this stupid unit clearly shows he is better, like every single engagement that serral won was because of that, without that it would not even be close Almost like burrowed infestors are Zergs only real option to catch Ghosts who otherwise completly outrun their army and kill it in the process? No, other option = just fungal them normally and be the quicker player, normal interactions between spellcasters, thats how it should be Yes, please work your slow-ass, short-ranged spellcasters into a ball of "spellcasters" with stupid amount of DPS that can cloak... It's good that you're not letting the easy victory of your race derail you away from what's important 1)Rathuset has a 50/50 split between Terran and Zerg (according to Liquipedia) 2)I wouldn't exactly call a 45min game down to the last mineral patch "easy"...
Oh in terms of the facts you're right, terran is favored against zerg right now. I just thought maybe you would want to enjoy this moment

The balance whine in this thread is laughable and unworthy of the games we are witnessing.

Some of these takes are so ridiculous. Nah, this map is so Zerg favored that terran is never expected to win. It shouldn't be in the pool. Combine that with infestors being impossible to see, and Serral getting at least 5 lucky fungals that dodged scans by one pixel Yeah Maru played better, that was one of the best terran performances probably ever I agree the map is stupid as fuck but to say he played better when he got caught by like 10 game ending fungals and didn’t do any damage to Serral the entire game is ludicrous. Yes he defended like a god and yes he had no chance because of the map but that doesn’t mean he was the better player. What did Serral do worse? Serral made mistakes in engagements was was caught out of position a few times when Maru pulled it back Maru didn't really make any mistakes, I'm not sure how he could have played any better. He scanned his army for almost all those infestors but missed them by pixels which is just poor luck Sometimes the other guy makes good plays too, let’s not underrate Serral’s ability to continually, continually have them sneaking into good spots, most of his fungals were good fungals, have his army continually rotating so they’re actually able to capitalise, while both players were macroing like gods the whole time.
When Maru gets his setup going and Zergs throw away like 10k resources into sim cities and ghosts and bleed out often the line is that it’s not proof of imbalance because only Maru can reliably play a game like that.
I don’t think any other Zerg can play a game like that when Maru’s playing that well either, give the lad some credit!
Map sucks, when you get to those big base counts I don’t know how you win, but Maru also did very little damage to Serral for quite some time

Maru finally discovered The good unit

Let's hope we don't get a 4-0

Cyclone hellion is disgusting but I'm cheering for Maru just because I don't want this to end like this

The whining is ridiculous. Agreed. This and Maru not ready for early game aggression g3 when he's clearly made Serral sweat lategame prev game shows more of the same stubbornness that usually gets him. One of the reasons he lost to Serral. Cockiness. In terms of actual raw skill, I think even the biggest blindest Serral fanboys can admit that Maru is lightyears ahead in skill.
Please. Same excuse as vs. Oliveira last year. Fool us once...

How did he kill 15 SCV:s with like eight lings in two secs?!

Whelp, we always knew deep down didn't we.
Serral's ridiculously good

Well 4-0 it is lol.
It's a shame Maru lost to those allins early on in the series. Well played by Serral for going for them on maps Maru had a chance on

That hole in mineral wall is this game's MVP, isn't it.

It’s a shame the last day fizzled out so hard. Great play by Serral who definitely has the argument for #1 all time now.
