For who is used to be called a "Roach boy", his lack of Roach-play really make his game one-dimensional at the moment. He just cant break tank seige position easily until he got Viper and even then he might have faced Ghost.

Same with me but it's getting harder and harder to watch as a casual viewer when you just see marines and medivacs and tanks steamroll everything with almost no playback in the early game lol

To be clear, you are saying Solar is looking like the worst ZvT player, after losing to Maru, in part because: He didn't play roaches largely on maps that are great for tanks, and he had trouble breaking siege positions... as Zerg, on this map pool?

If current form TY trickery is enough to get him out over Dark and herO, we can start thinking about marine nerfs LMAO.

I dont think hes the worst ZvT player, he just doesnt have a lot of variability in his current game and his reaction isnt as great as Reynor to play that style imo. And I think Roach opening is viable to mix in these days to use early and transition out later, I also believe that is better than the LBH army that Solar continuously using.

Sure, it wasn't great. But even good ZvT players often look bad vs Maru, and the map in game 1 was a bit gross. I didn't feel like his game 2 was all that terrible either. He also did beat Byun, and his game 3 there was really good. I don't think your statement `Solar looks like the worst zvt player' is even remotely fair. EDIT: Apologies Tigera, mixed up your statement. I think what you are saying is broadly fair - but I still don't think roaches on this map pool are amazing, or would have made Solar look better this series.

Solar strikes me as the guy who is a great student, he does the textbook thing very well. But throw him up against someone who deviates from the textbook in Gumiho, or who just executes a textbook clinic better in Maru and he can struggle. He wasn’t super far from breaking Maru’s pushes in G2 and being in a great spot, he just couldn’t quite do it. He wasn’t crazy outclassed and his textbook approach was good enough to beat Byun’s unholy aggression, he just couldn’t pull it off against a Gumiho and Maru who brought very solid games to bear. I mean let’s be real there’s no Korean Zerg who can go toe to toe with Maru these days who isn’t called Dark. Rag falls into that ‘looks pretty good but ultimately loses’ camp too
