They can't make more banes, lurkers, vipers or infestors. That is a key for victory.

Edit: GSL could make a Ro10 group full of Terran.

Cure will deny Maru the G5L by very temporarily ending his TvT dominance in the finals, before losing a BO5 to him 0-3 in the next DH / super-tournament / etc.

There are some people left who can be scary in bo3s so it might not be inevitable. In my heart I hope Creator or Bunny finally win though.

Losing dark so early does damper the rest of this gsl season though. Like others said it does seem like we are likely to get another maru herO final

For some reason Dark looked very shaky in the ro20 and got beaten by Zoun, but the other opponents were not strong enough to really abuse the weakness of Dark. This time though, Dark was not as good as usual by just a tiny bit, but Solar got over his ro8 curse and played like the SSL champ he is, while Cure finally looked good in TvZ again. Without Rogue though, losing Dark is painful for zerg fans of GSL. Still, maybe Solar can make a deep run? I liked the DT build of Prince, but his adept play looked very lackluster compared to Zoun who showed better after play several times, splitting them, actually doing damage, etc.

Byun even recently beat Hero 4-2 in a bo7 they played suggesting that making it to the finals is far from an inevitability for Hero.

btw.: if hero/maru have black out in the next group stage and don't advance, will the tournament be more interesting? because it will be hard to tell who is favors?

In fact he received the PartinG award in 2019 for 10 consecutive ro16 finishes and I don't think he got eliminated in the first round since then, so he probably had an insane strak going

His TvZ looks practically Ryung level at times, especially when he has to play the late game. I'm not, watching his play he's hitting timings an using the maps better than anyone else. His control/micro leaves a lot to be desired but more than makes up for it with positioning and army comp and transitions. If Maru is able to adapt the earlier and heavier tank/ghost incorporation then I feel like the matchup will start to look hopeless from the Zerg PoV. The creep spread did feel a little lackluster from both Zergs, perhaps just wanting to have the extra transfuses.
