I wonder if these events have fueled his motivational fire for practice. Maybe he's done a whole lot of analysis when unable to play, giving him edges that he lacked before. E.g. late game proficiency, patterns of his opponents etc.

Looking at the game, it seems understandable Creator made the decisions he did, and how easily we take it for granted how often pros play nearly perfectly most games. Creator saw he was up in bases and was successfully containing Dark to 2 mining bases (both of which didn't have a ton left). He was sniping hatches and containing him. But his defense and multitasking was weak. His left base had 3 batteries but 0 cannons. The other bases had a couple batteries/canons but not enough, and not enough units to spot or defend. Imagine if he just had 1 carrier hovering near the bottom right base for example to kill things coming in the back alley? He probably didn't consider he would lose probes over and over again, and thought if he just kept his 3 vs 2 base lead, Dark would dry up eventually. Also like someone else said, he lost his oracles in the moment it seemed like he would win if he just A-clicked. Perhaps other zergs would have quit there, but Dark stayed. I wonder if it was the right move for Creator to kill all the tech or if he should have just A-moved into Dark's remaining base. The thing I'm considering is that Creator's Carriers only had +1 vs 3/3 zerg, so they aren't that strong especially with microbial shroud. Either way though, at one moment he had like 3000 minerals, he could have easily put 1-2 more batteries/canons at each base, and a spotter (oracle or something) to watch ling/blings coming by. I also feel if his plan was to try to contain Dark and keep his base/army advantage, he should have kept making probes and exploded economically with the 5 Nexus + chronos he had. He could have at least remade all the probes he kept losing to those runbys. In the end, the better player won I suppose. Creator just wasn't seasoned enough in that kind of situation, and as usual his weakness I think is in multitasking/defense. He tried to do a mix of containing dark and growing his lead, but didn't ensure his probes were safe. There also were no more air upgrades, you'd think getting +2 at least when you have that many carriers would be super worth it. It's also too bad he had no oracles really to put stasis or spot for defense. Imagine, +1 Interceptors doing 6x2 damage vs Queens with +3 armor upgrades and 1 natural armor. That means they only take 2x2 damage per interceptor, and with Shroud they only take 2 damage each. No wonder mass Queens looks "OP" in that situation. +2 attack would have increased the damage by 50% compared to +1!! Happy for Bunny though after being so unlucky. He did really well a few seasons ago, but ran into a really tough bracket after that, then got a hand injury. And at least we still have a really good protoss left who can take it all. It would have been more hype to me if Creator could be that protoss, but herO is looking more solid overall and I wouldn't mind him taking the title of first protoss to win GSL in 5 years. And props to Creator for still playing so well g1. When I saw the Nydus and lurkers preparing, I was just thinking back to the nightmare that was hero vs Dark g5 at Dreamhack, where he had such a lead but lost everything because he left some lurkers get into his main. That seriously looks so tough to deal with. Creator was seemingly on the lookout for that and caught the nydus in his base, and dealt with it appropriately. That's the stuff I love him for (seen similar situations in the past). I do also wonder though, if Creator could have just went for the base trade there instead of defending at all. Surely Dark wouldn't have been able to muster enough AA to win a base trade? (After all, Creator's base advantage pretty much got negated after since he lost all those probes to ling/bling lol).
