I think he is already right? His biggest threat is Rogue but after he beat Dark I think he's the favourite there.
He's not losing a ZvT.
Careful about absolute predictions some people have been roasted for them already this tournament. You'll get some Captain Hindsight's sending you PMs if he does

I think this was more tense, exciting and strange given how game 5 went, Clem vs Serral was of better quality across the sets though IMO
yeh, but you can rate "series" in a different way from "games"
It's like how the Life-sOs BlizzCon final was an amazing series with seven pretty mediocre-to-awful games
Yeah rewatching some of the classics after the fact that does become painfully apparent.
What series are both incredible from a drama and narrative sense while also containing some truly great games too? Mvp vs Squirtle would come to mind immediately for me
just for the record folks I am still on the "Parting is gonna win it all" hype train, and I will only give it up when you pry it from my cold, dead hands (after three failed cheeses in a row)
Reminder that in 2018 Maru went up 2-0 and Rogue then Rogue decided there's no way he could win and went for meme builds to try and entertain the fans, then went 7-0 from then onward to win the tournament.

which wouldn't make Serral a bad player by any means. Reynor has that tiny edge of confidence boost, skillwise the highest level players (Zest, Trap, Dark, Rogue, Maru, Reynor, Serral, Clem...) look very close.
Not mentioning TY? You heretic!
he's there, I probably forgot some others. Wasn't trying to do anything exhaustive
Fair, but don't think you forgot anyone else.
at least Stats, even if we're going to lose him soon
I hate to say it but honestly don't think he's in the group at the moment. Don't think Zest was either until recently, just Trap was. The four (horsemen?) zerg have been steady for a good while, and the Terrans have shifted a bit with TY on top and Maru on/off. Clem is still ascending so it's hard to place him, except that he evidently has brilliant TvZ. He was only a dark horse coming into the tournament imo.

Inb4 Reynor vs. Clem finals.
Nah, never gonna happen. Clem does not have what it takes yet and Reynors luck will run out. This is the world championship not some foreignland BS tourney.
I find that a bit condescending. I mean sure, Clem will have a hard time vs. TY but if Reynor can take out Dark he can take out Rogue. And Maru... well it's Maru. I wouldn't bet my money on him outside GSL.
Truthfully if TY plays like he did against Clem in the group stage he won't have a hard time vs TY at all. Dunno if that was a ping issue or just a brain ping issue for TY

this one is a toss-up for me :0
Same, I think Rogue had some pretty favorable matches and even a Rogue who wasn't in his best state could get the 4-1 there. He did look much more good than meh though, in fairness.

Really? I thought Rogue looked super scary in the groupstage across all matchups. Yeah he clowned himself in 1 game against Parting with that stupid drone drill but otherwise he displayed an incredible form. Always one step ahead against all his opponents in everything he did. Based on what we have seen, I am expecting a 3:0 or 3:1 for Rogue here, but lets see if Maru powers up or not.

I also think there are a lot of series that get "saved" by game 5/7. Jaedong vs HerO from whatever IEM that was is an example (although I know non-HerO fans and toss haters have a very different recollection of that game than I do)

Serral-soO from Katowice had both
Good series there.
I'm not really sure what Demu is talking about in terms of Maru being the little brother to Rogue, I mean Maru was posting results years ago and if not always called upon I'm pretty sure he was Jin Air's de facto ace/best player.

Am I biaised ? Not at all x)
Other than this, some Reynor vs Serral and Reynor vs Clem have been amazing on dh eu.

wow, imagine not being on board Wax's "this is the highest parity era of StarCraft II ever" train
srsly tho I think ppl's minds are STILL too anchored to 2018 and really want to find a new BEST IN THE WORLD after every match, whereas the truth is we just have a lot of good players who can beat each other in any given match.

In terms of results in korea, Maru has been the best Jin Air player since he joined the team.
I am reading back through my 10 page battle report on Maru vs Rogue from last year's Super Tournament 2 and it's... not making me feel better about Maru's chances
