A2 vs C3 into B1 B2 vs D3 into A1 D2 vs A3 into C1 I think they were trying to make it so the players from the same group couldn't meet in first two rounds, and there's not so many ways you could do that. Of course the rows could be shifted around and it's not really obvious why they are in this exact order.

Maru I guess? He’s looked in very good form in that matchup. Protoss players are all good but generally aren’t too hot in PvZ, and Serral’s rather good at ZvZ. I don’t think almost anyone beating him would be a crazy, unique level of upset but I wouldn’t really favour many against him. Yeah, I think Serral is basically favoured against everyone in this bracket, but it feels like everyone has a decent shot at taking him out. Specifically Zest going through to the semis could be super interesting as his style isn't much different from Hurricane and he seems good in PvZ atm.

Tbh I just got used to Zest being bad at PvZ and I missed yesterday, seems he’s on an upward curve there. Could be interesting for sure

And Stats too. Was this something like - let's put all the big Koreans on one side, Serral on the other, we can't risk it!

It's perfect, he can make money, avoid playing Serral and nobody will blame him for not reaching the finals cause his side of the bracket has no weak players. I think Serral is his own biggest obstacle in making the finals. I doubt Inno will show up and outclass Cure and TY to the degree needed to win against Serral. And whichever Protoss gets to the semis will not have a free win like Hurricane had this group stage.

i think everyone is happy with this bracket, except showtime and maybe maru, coz he doesn't like facing sOs in tournament setting

I was looking at Liquipedia map stats and noticed that Zest is part of 1/8 of PvZs on Nightshade. If you remove him and MaNa from those stats the PvZ winrates swings from 1% in Protoss's favour to 4% in Zerg's favour.

Now he has to face both until semis. There is a possibility for another team-kill in semi as well.

+ Show Spoiler + I mean I know why, yeah cuz of the ESL Cups If you want one standing, then have only one standing, if you want 2 then separate the koreans and foreigners, don't put them in both of them, make up your mind lol
