Based on win ratios and strength of opponents (ignoring TY being robbed of his spot), the correct bracket should be:
Top: (Stats vs. sOs) -> Rogue (ShoWTime vs. Zest) -> Maru
Bottom: (Solar vs. Innovation) -> Dear (Hurricane vs. Dark) -> Serral

The fucked up thing is the mirrors in ro12 then also lead into mirrors in ro8
|
It's not rigged, we're just caught up in a very unlikely 84 time coin landing on heads streak of Maru and Serral getting put on complete opposite sides of the bracket.

Yeah then once Serral beats sOs in the finals, everyone will say he's lucky and never faced good competition, even though sOs would have beaten Stats (best KR toss), Maru (best KR terran), and one of the top 3 KR zergs.

That seems fair but you forgot the "koreans don't care about foreign tournament" :o

It's funny cause it's been a long time since Maru was good enough to get to the finals but if Serral just slaps him around in the quarters that wouldn't be hype either

If only Maru could show up and make a finals vs Serral maybe they'd stop trying.

So assuming Serral is the man to beat; Who is the most likely to kick him out of the tourney apart from Harry Kane?

Zest was mauling zergs yesterday, so I'd say him.

No way sOs get pass the semi saddly, we might see Dark-Serral tho.
Actually unless we have an upset I'm pretty sure we're going into another zvz final guys. Hopefully Solar can beat Dark and Rogue first

I am sorry for Cure and Elazer, both needed just one map to qualify(and we would have had Elazer vs Dark part 5).
On the other hand, I'm glad Serral advanced. He lost against a Protoss and he's only up 20-18 against Inno, it's not the easiest possible bracket he could get.
|
The brackets arent that bad. I think Zest and Inno both have a decent shot vs Serral so it's not super free. The other side is just insanely stacked lol.

Sadly PvZ gods Harry Kane and Zest are running into PvP titan Dear. So it's up to Inno and whoever wins the other side of the bracket. So really just give Serral the trophy and let's move on to the Super Tournament

At least at the global finals 2018 they had the decency to admit that the brackets are completely arbitrary.

Protoss players are all good but generally aren’t too hot in PvZ, and Serral’s rather good at ZvZ.
I don’t think almost anyone beating him would be a crazy, unique level of upset but I wouldn’t really favour many against him.

were there any good games from group C? I only watched group D live today

If it was Zest vs TY, I think it is a completely fine bracket. In brackets like these, it only takes one mirror matchup to make it look super dumb, but in reality, it's not that bad and it was so close to being super hype. (and tbh, it's super hype anyway, i miss pro sc2)
