Again not sure why this perception of everyone just hating on Rifkin that keeps being brought up is coming from, it’s totally disconnected from many of the actual posts in the thread.
While it might not be "hate" per se, the reaction up until Rifkin posted clarification was not exactly positive. Let's go through and evaluate the more negative ones.

Sorry, maybe it's just me, but I find it a bit offensive that the guy who addresses to sc2 community "get me to blizzcon" plays WoW during group B matches at blizzcon.
Ok, so this one is a bit of a legitimate question, though I do wonder why someone would find it "offensive" to play WoW during the global finals.

Is this a troll post?
It's not hate necessarily, but I also find it odd this person thought a fundraising tournament by Rifkin was a "troll" post.

yo people, I will be playing sc2 in my twitch channel all weekend, feel free too to throw money at me so I can go to blizzcon :D
Not hate, but it is snark. This person is making fun of Rifkin for trying to fundraise to go to Blizzcon.

I'll auction off my weekend to the highest bidder. Send me a dollar to play SC2 on stream. Then someone else sends me slighly more to play BW. Then someone else sends me even more to play chess. Then someone else sends me even more to play cards with my dog. All proceeds go towards sending me to Blizzcon
Again, this person is also making fun of Rifkin for fundraising for blizzcon

This is ridiculous lmfao.
This one is definitely negative. Definitely bordering on that "hate" you were talking about

I can't even imagine having the audacity to try this. So much self-importance lol. I guess no harm in trying to get yourself a paid trip to blizzcon but lol
Yeah, this one is definitely along the lines of "hate."
Sure, so most of these were not outright "hating" on Rifkin, but they were neither positive nor constructive either, so they were definitely adding to the negativity without really adding anything in return. These were all the more negative comments Rifkin received up to when he sent out an explanation post.
Trying to look at these posts as objectively as possible, I will grant that the hate amount wasn't as high as the hate towards Zerg during the Global Finals. However, I really don't see how someone can find these posts neutral or positive.
