I remember that we had a couple of discussions on this board why we didn't have someone in SC 2 who is/was as dominant as Flash in SC:BW. Now that we have someone who has been dominating since 1.5 years, people are (already) bored by the repeating outcome. I get that Serral could/should play in Korea but just imagine he was as dominant in Korea as he is in Europe. We'd probably have people complaining again about having the same outcome over and over again.

Which is even more frustrating because Serral refuses to play in GSL.
So he just gets to go to the bank every couple months while Blizzard tries their best to advertise the tournaments as actual competitions instead of just Serral's personal piggy bank.
Sure there's a COUPLE people that can take games off of him, but who in the foreign scene is even considered even close to on par with him? Reynor is the closest and that's only because ZvZ is such a coin flip half the time.

My Italian boy can turn this around! I'm half Italian so I have to cheer for him over Serral btw

The difference is that Serral is dominating a B league that only exists because Blizzard forces the Koreans out of it.
If Serral were dominating because he was actually the best in the world this would be an entirely different discussion. See Maru's 5 straight GSL titles.
The fact is, we only get to see Serral ACTUALLY compete 3 or 4 times a year MAX. The rest of the time he's just stomping on the welfare league.

Everyone who opened the WCS stream today not expecting ZvZ finals is lying.

Some people were complaining about Maru winning 4 GSLs so it's not just that.

Serral is way more dominant to his wcs peers than Flash was, its just a boring snoozefest, nobody really believes that any WCS player has a chance vs Serral, unlike various elite players vs Flash.

He Stasis Warded basically all the drones at the natural, which is solid eco damage but gave the Adepts no good targets. He would have traded a ton of Adepts for mayyyybe 6 Drones. There was nothing there that even threatened the adepts, while there were tons of drones still exposed AND he committed a ton to the attack. No, there were six Drones still exposed and he didn't have time to wait for the others. If he Shades into the natural Serral pulls the units from the third earlier and he gets basically no time there and loses everything no matter what. He got ~8 Adepts out this way at least.
Serral's response and positioning were great and the timing and Showtime ended up in a bad spot option-wise.

The amount of complaining was negligible vs the amount of adulation and you know it. Serral's dominance inevitably brings up regionlocking debates, the tones of the conversations are entirely different.

Fortunately live reports here on Team Liquid teach me Heromarine is the strongest foreign Terran, that Neeb would have stomped Serral and that Showtime is clearly the superior player.
Enjoy the best mirror match being played at the highest levels.

Keep telling yourself that. Maru winning so many Code S tournaments was boring as hell, you guys just love the Terran race above all things.

Reynor vs Serral is a more interesting finals than Heromarine vs Serral at least.

Oh please. Elazer and Reynor are in two different leagues now when it comes to TvZ. Using his results vs an Elazer that looks lost in the match up is just asking to be disappointed.
Never for a minute did I think Reynor was going to lose that series, especially after such a thorough thrashing of a much better TvZ player in Special.
