Masa now -38 against Neeb, Scarlett goes to -20

Also, it's quite amazing that this is a premier tournament

Boring series after all without audiences' cheer.
I hope production could do something to bolster up the scene next time.

Between the no audience, ffa, and meh games, this has been an extremely anticlimactic ending for a WCS Circuit event

Audience cheering doesn't make awful games into passable ones.

I can't say I am disappointed but I'd have loved for Scarlett to win WCS once.

None of the events in the LA studio have an audience, including Blizzcon, which is a shame. I remember the ESL studio in Germany always had a crowd for WCS EU back in 2013-14.

No, it does basically bump up any event even if it’s just a little though.

Yeah, it wasn’t crazy hype but they had enough people who weren’t crazily socially awkward so there was just that bit more atmosphere.

I think it’s a decent compromise and it worked well for them.

they should add a fake cheer-track! /s

this format sucks though, they could've at least had AM and EU meet for the playoffs bracket, the player pool is way too weak when split up like this

The current format seems largely ok, with the main problems being the FFA just before the finals and the production/venue that makes it feel like a qualifier more so than a WCS final. The audio quality and unusually low gamma (or maybe that's just my display) don't help either. Not sure what to feel about the quality of the games but I guess that's just down to the players and how they decide to play.

The casting is different from what we've come to expect from premier tourneys but I think it's difficult when there's no live audience and when the casting hours are long

EU is actually fine, the problem is NA doesn't have any real competitors besides the Neeb/Scarlett/Special trio, and one of them bombing out of group stage made things even worse.

agree with that i just dont see how the players themselves make up the skill difference though i mean how many years have the Koreans dominated. i just look to the future of the eu and na sc scene and see it dying off in the very near future. there no new young players coming up Scarlett and neeb are getting older special didnt even make it, and who beside serral in Europe can truly compete with the best in the world. it looks bleak.

Yeah I wanted Scarlett to win it for Canada. I don't really play SC2 these days but I'm wondering if adept timings are more in style these days.

eh EU is kind of ok, not as bad as AM, EU is 4 zergs though, would've been nice with the slightly more variety from AM
