The Bonjwa title is closely tied to an amount domination in a certain period of time that no one has ever reached in sc2. It's much easier to achieve this title in Brood War where there only is one scene; atm Serral is no Bonjwa, if he keeps winning we'll discuss of it.

Jaedong officially was not called Bonjwa; that's partly because of Flash outshining him and partly because he was more consistent that actually dominant(he never had a huge tournament's winning streak like Flash's).

An exceptionally strong argument can and has been made that Region lock saved foreign starcraft at the expense of Korean starcraft. If that's worth it to X person (and I guarantee X person exists) then what blizzard is doing with WCS is good for starcraft, in X persons point of view.
