I don't think he played his best games today to be honest, the long game vs ShowTime he just didn't "Serral" the engagements like he often does, but it was still so sick.
If Serral keeps this up for all of 2018 he will have done the same thing as Neeb in 2017. And that wasn't enough to make him foreign GOAT, at least not in many people's eyes.

Even if Serral matches Neeb's 2017 by winning 3 of 4 WCS events, his resume is still pretty far behind Neeb's.

Neeb has the Kespa Cup on top of 2017, and that still wasn't enough for a lot of people. Serral has great form but GOAT–even foreign GOAT–is a really high bar.
I can't believe what I saw... Serral is an absolute monster. How the heck did he win game 6? There was just no way :D Yes there was a lot of luck with the observer sniped but still, Serral seems to draw the luck to his side with his insane plays. A lot of his wins seem lucky but if it's repeated again and again then it's clearly pure class as well.
And the last game. Yes, Showtime screwed up by attacking into a choke but I never saw a Zerg hold this when unscouted. That was a build order win for Showtime, clear, easy, undeniable, and he still lost? :D wow, thanks for these 2 games NW, I think I am having a heart attack

Well, you're right in terms of skill, but unless he starts winning multiple tournaments in a row he'll fall short of Stephano. To be considered the GOAT, you gotta win championships against Koreans.

Neeb still a favorite for GOAT. He was super close of beating Seral last WCS, I would not be surprise if he won at least one this year.
I think it's almost impossible to compare Stephano to Neeb or Serral because they competed in a vastly different tournament scene. Stephano had way more opportunities to face koreans while Neeb and Serral only have that chance a few times per year and always just vs the top top koreans. On the other hand Neeb and Serral have a way easier time winning championships due to region-lock.

Neeb is still better overall than Serral of course... It's just lately ZvP is a bit Zerg favored and Neeb is not in his best Form. But Serral has a long road ahead to match Neebs achievements, although he is definitely on a right track
