I think, as Harstem said, just playing greedy is the best way. But yeah quick ghosts could work too

It's interesting that Rotterdam is saturating with 18/24 in his main. I know this is better mining than 16/24, but I'm surprised he does it even before saturating the natural

I don't think Rotti's openers are anything close to optimal, but they're pretty thought out (as Harstem says, he plays the same build every game) so I'm pretty sure there is a solid reason behind that

a mine hit killed more or less all the zealots, Rotti blinked into the army to kill the medivacs, bio killed them all, then the lib got killed by a lib before it could warp in chargelots ; Rotti ggs with 65 supply to 130ish.

It depends on when the game ends tho so it's not necessarily easy to properly plan out, doesn't it?
Like if you don't want to mine out all the map it doesn't really matter if your main is quickly mined out? But if your opponent manages to prevent you from expanding, it matters...

In my study of economy models in sc2 I found that when there are a full 8 nodes, the 17th and 18th workers are 99% as efficient as the first 16 on a standard mineral patch arrangement.

This means that 18 per line is actually better than 16 per line when on 1 base. And technically you lose a tiny tiny bit of income on the transfer of 17/18 to a 2nd base that takes a short while to be clawed back.

This is probably why he does 18 sometimes.
