Cool idea. Unfortunately, since I'm NA it'll be hard for me to watch, but I'll try

I haven't played online cups in a long while, I'm looking forward to this one!
How many of each qualifier go through?

VODs will be immediately available on Twitch, or delayed by a day or two on YouTube.

Wardii single handedly saving eSports! Thank you!

Looks nice. When i read "This will lead into a dual tournament format..." i hoped for a Double elimination Bracket for a second, since groupe plays are so usual these days. Still looking forward to it, gonna attend the qualis for sure when i find the time.

Not to be of topic but wardi when did you go through puberty, that voice got alot deeper

Qualifier 1 is tonight : http://challonge.com/wardiopenq1
The tournament is now also an OSC event offering the following points : 1st 275 OSC points 2nd 175 OSC points 3rd 100 OSC points 4th 60 OSC points 5-8th 25 OSC points each 9-12th 12.5 OSC points each 13-16th 5 OSC points each

Hey Ward I, great stuff, I'll be watching the tourney for sure!
Just noticed though that the prize pool is a bit off.
1st - $350 2nd - $150 3rd - $50
That totals $550, which would of course be an awesome prize pool! Not sure if the prize pool changed already, but this is above the $500 mentioned in the post, so just wanted to let you know!

Yeah I think he could have won in a straight on engagement anyway. Really poor decision making from him this series.

From where did True play? Is he in US?

u can't just beat Polish Zergs like that

EU > KR
Can't beat the environment

Idk Nerchio you've been getting pummeled by Protosses lately

Groups will be played out over the next few days, matches are BO5. Initial matches are 1st player listed vs 4th player listed & 2nd player listed vs 3rd player listed. Dual tournament format.
Group A - Friday, Sep 02 4:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00) aLive Elazer Beastyqt Socke
Group B - Saturday, Sep 03 12:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00) Harstem KeeN Snute FeaR
Group C - Sunday, Sep 04 4:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00) MarineLorD Strange Nerchio Guru
Group D - Tuesday, Sep 06 4:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00) viOLet Reynor DnS Hellraiser
|
Actually one of the more even groupings in a while, my totally unfounded/based on nothing predictions:
Group A: Elazer and aLive make it out Group B: Snute and Harstem Group C: Nerchio MarineLorD but I think this group is actually closer than some thing, Guru has beaten some very good players in online tournaments Group D: viOLet and Reynor
|
aLive is weird
Looks really good for a couple of months, then it's time for the Ro32 in GSL and he falls off a giant cliff, recovers and starts anew.
|
Either Elazer is the fastest in the universe and I missed it or he didn't GG in the last 2 games. Probably option 1, lasers are fast.

kind of funny that Keen and aLive are matched up now. They've already faced each other in 5 online tournaments this week. Corsair Cup, Leifeng Cup, EURONICS Gaming Cup, ESL Americas Open Cup, and go4sc2. aLive won 4/5 but their h2h is Keen 30-32 aLive so not bad

Nerchio vs aLive will play on EU server, starting soon. Sorry for the delays.
|
match for 3rd place is not played?
|
Nerchio vs Elazer final yet again
|
aLive is a funny guy. He can beat almost anybody if he plays on KR, but if he plays on cross server he can even lose to guys way worse than Nerchio. So this 3-0 is really no surprise at all.

Cancelled. We were delayed massively due to issues with the patch and players not being able to reach NA server. aLive already compromised to play on EU and I decided it was best for all involved to just cancel the third/fourth and to add in the extra $ so that third/fourth left with equal amounts (~$100 each).

Actually I usually mute Wardi during breaks because I can't stand the music he plays Sometimes I miss beginnings of the next games or even whole games if they were short.
But yea, you can't please everyone I guess. There is no music type that everyone likes.
Nice tournament anyway, I ejoyed it. Thank you Wardi.
