I don't think it's Zerg favored, but no one actually knows how to play on it, so that's up in the air right now.

With the format of these small 16-player tournaments, for the better players the first round is a non-contest usually, so the quarter-final will be their first game. Win that and they're into a Semi. Deep run completed with easy money in the bag.
Polt sleep-walked into the semis of DH Tours with really bad ( relative to his usual) play yet pocketed a cool 10K. Competition too easy or is there a need for a lower bracket? Polt had one of the easiest brackets tbh. Same with Violet. The biggest issue is the foreign scene isn't quite deep enough to make really really hyped 32 man brackets. However, I think it's slowly changing as more NA players get into the spotlight and a couple sea players seem to be getting better too so there are less easy slots like Iaguz often is or PilliPilli or Bails. The first has a horrible mentality self admitted and PilliPilli and Bails are still coming into their own, but have had their moments in online events
That's my point exactly, that Polt made a 'deep run' due to an incredibly easy bracket even while playing badly. I would of thought that WCS foreigner biased tournaments would offer a losers bracket to give players more games and so chances for better play etc. Was there ever any reason given as to why no tournaments this year have had double elimination formats?
Cost reasons most likely?

i actually fooled myself into thinking he would 3 rax reaper only on frozen for the rest of this series

And time. They want to show all the games which isn't possible with a 16 or 32 player double elim bracket.

I'd say time is a bigger reason. We already do three days 12 hours long. We couldn't do even more games

As a Terran player, I'd play aggressively and go one base all in. The pathing is short so pushes are fairly strong. Marine tank pushes should do fairly well. Definitely wouldn't aim to play a long game.

I've only seen him do that unproxied on Frozen Temple and Galactic, and more rarely proxied on Apotheosis. So... half the map pool.
Oh and I also saw him proxy 3rax reaper on Flame Juggler, the worst 3rax reaper map ever, and follow it up with 3 rax marauder which he couldn't afford. I don't think he would do that again.
