You can do it if you are going for a mass hellbat/tank/viking timing in TvT around 150ish supply. You actually don't want medivacs in this case because all starport time should be going toward viking production to kill opponents medivacs to prevent tank pickups.
I don't think it's possible in any other matchup.

the beauty about SH games were that the games often came down to the very last ressources and got super epic in the end. not just a timing push and 1 player dies it was a long strategic slugfest. I had multiple 2-3 hour long games vs SHs and they were so epic.

This looks like a typical avilo game from the swarmhost era. Mass ravens in a corner. Avilo wouldn't have gottten the BCs though, he hates BCs.
EDIT: I hope there's a vod of that 6hr game somewhere though, the replay will have been broken by the great replay patch of late 2015

The swarmhost play forced out very positional gameplay from both the zerg and his opponents. See Flash vs Life on Sejong Station in TB's Shoutcraft Invitational for a really great example.
