From the 7 Zergs, Nerchio is the one who gets no ZvZs in his group, that's the worse German attack of Poland since WWII I have faith in him anyway.
Scarlett vs. TLO is another fan heartbreaker, but will it even be on the main stream? I have found a B-stream screen yesterday, so it's actually watchable, but the majority of screens show the main one obviously.

He used to rarely if ever go to tournaments. Now that he's going to more he's proving himself.

Pretty sure Ej_ wasn't serious. But if he was, I'd say whether or not there are tier 3 players at Homestory Cup is a question of how you define your tiers.

he beat stephano 3:0?
it requires context
The context of MaSa stimming 300 marines to death in an attempt to kill a player whose whole army was 5 ultras and 5 queens.
well, ultras are pretty strong.
it took Masa 10 min to kill Stephano with 0 drones. He also lost 35 scvs to 20 lings in the early game because he forgot to make his scvs repair the wall. it was all sorts of stuff like that. Stephano was probably the only player in this tournament Masa could have beaten the way he played that series. so many uncharacteristic mistakes. would stim his whole army down to orange and red so it would die instantly.

Yeah all he had to do was kill every corruptor and then the corruptor remax, as well as the last mining drones. I can't believe he committed to a losing fight when he still had all that going for him.

It was the same vs Namchar. Basically won the game. Then goes into ghost tech and the game gets relatively even. Luckily Namchar is a bad player and Soul still easily won.
But yeh, as the casters said it is like he isn't reacting to the situation but just blindly building Ghosts at time X in every TvZ matchup. This isn't how you should play the game.
Honestly though I think he has a ton of potential. Relative to other top foreign terrans like Bunny, Marinelord and Masa he lucks like he is much cleaner unit control/stronger mechanics.

from a player perspective i'm really enjoying bo5, and group stage, even if it takes a long time. it feels like practice is worth more compared to losing one bo5 in wcs in one match-up and being out for the next 4 days. and we get to play more different maps than usual, just in general rewarding practice, endurance and skill

Do you know if the late-group players feel the same?
These groups have taken way too long. Its past 9 PM and the second groups haven't even started. Maybe next HSC they'll make the initial matches Bo3 and the rest Bo5.
Grat games by Masa, I cheer for Millenium but that was still a pleasure to see his victories. edit: I don't understand something, why does the toss currently stay so long on centry/tempest rather than going directly for storm or at least archons? Without it there is no splash damage and so a pretty low dps ultimatly...

The thing is that that doesn't really make sense. MaSa was playing defensive on 2 bases from what ShoWTimE saw. In that situation phoenix/adept is pretty useless. And if he was expecting MaSa to do a tank push, well there's also better comps against that.

It's hard to know if you have time to transition into a different comp though, especially off adept/phoenix which has a hard time transitioning in the first place.

ToD just reported it's 1:0 for TLO ...
I understand that there is a delay, but firstly, the delay exists only because of ambitious scheduling, there were no issues and second, I don't see the reasoning behing the choice of which match to not show. Or maybe they wanted to prevent the fistfight between the two biggest fan groups )
TLO whooped Scarlett 3-0 when they played earlier this year so I won't be too shocked if he beats her. I still think she has a good chance even from 1 game down though

Not sure if you will read it but this means a lot to me. I changed to Best of 5 because I wanted to have a better Story, a better experience and ofcourse the Content needed for HSC. I assumed 50-55 Minutes for a best of 5 but I learned it the hard way that this isnt sufficient. I will have more experience the next time and maybe start earlier and/or have 2 Matches played at the same time.
I am still happy Players seem to enjoy it. Thank you!
as a viewer, i also enjoy it, its really the best format i have ever seen.

For a Bo5 GSL Group you Need 4.5-5.5 hours depending on games and the game time I expected did nearly happen for most Groups but I am still a bit unexperienced with professional schedule. Winner interview time was what killed me mostly. Commercials 5-10 Minutes I planned but in the end some series were longer. So 50-55 minutes is what 1 series usually takes. Next time I know better , start earlier and assume a bo5 is rather 70 minutes total compared to 55 and also have the first 2 Matches Play at the same time (at least I would think I would do that)
I can't find a reason why TLO would do such a terrible build except maybe he wants to drink as much as he wants and doesn't wanna worry about playing with a hangover.

it's a very good build on Ulrena, but not very good vs immortal on 25 probes

you need to accept that the time needed for a group has a distribution with a significant tail and that the schedule needs to be ready for not just the mean, but for everything that has a reasonable probability. if you run 12 groups, then even the highest 10% of length will almost surely occur once and likely twice or three times. statistics is a bitch, but it is how things are. be honest, not wishful, thay is my best advice.

Yeah, but as the casters said Harstem almost always goes fast immortal.
so far the winners of groups are the only korean, the two europes best zergs and the guy who owns the last half of a decade. everything is in order.
the only one for whom i feel really sorry is showtime, who played awesomr, but got a tricky group.
still dont know how to feel about the results in absence of koreans, but it is definitely fun to watch. now i see what the wcs system really did - by removing the incentive for koreans to half-move to eu, it killed the playerpool for things like hsc, everyone is now in a PL team or retired...but the eu scene has stayed alive enough to produce a good tournament roster nevertheless.

She was so good at it at her peek. It was always my favourite style to watch out of all match ups.

I think it's great for LotV. Makes for more much more compelling games. One thing I'd change is to increase the size of the map pool to 9 maps, since having to play 5 of 7 forces some play on not very balanced maps.

Bo5 are great. But maybe do something about the broadcasting format so it doesn't take forever to get everything played. Maybe even a C stream or something.
At the start of the series Dayshi and Snute were so positive about everything Heromarine did, with Incontrol the lone dissenter favouring Scarlett. But as the series continued they became more and more jaded.

No, you're supposed to hype the cast. You can't call it when it's not over.

RIP Deutschland. Dirty Koreans coming over and stealing the foreigner's money.

Yea look at the players that showed up. You have amazing Zergs like TRUE, Nerchio, Snute, Scarlett, and TLO. Protoss had Harstem, Showtime, and Mana. Not quite the same number of high caliber of players representing their race, Zerg was obviously going to have more players in the Ro8.
I am primarily impressed with Scarlett's level in ZvT.
This is somehow showing that Korean Terrans are on a completely different level than European Terrans, so Nerchio's and Snute's play might not be dominant at all in a match against them.
I must say, I am looking forward to BlizzCon and I hope, Nerchio and Snute will get some good Korean Terrans into their groups to see the reality. The only problem is that with the current WCS system (8 places for Koreans from 4 tournaments only), there might not be any good Korean Terrans at all. TY is good, but after his performance at the tournament in China, where he lost 50% of his matches against foreigners, I do not trust into his ability vs. much worse players.

To be fair historically foreigners have absolutely been most sucessful with zerg. Granted there have been some sucessful toss like HuK and Naniwa, there really haven't been any consistently solid foreign protoss since 2014. Meanwhile zergs have consistently been carried by Steph Scarlett Nerchio and Snute at one time or another.

if Neeb had participated there would probably be 1 more toss in ro8

Quite possibly but we don't know that for a fact. Although now that he's finished school that may not have to be a hypothetical.
