I can understand because that was a team kill, so Zest might not be in a slump. Innovation, on the other hand, is probably thinking about retiring now since he lost to Byul
Oh my. well thank god Zest is not in a slump yet :D

I understand it when people call it INnoVation-mech when referring to the execution of such a turtle-mech style, but the original ideas of turtling on ground mech and then maxing on air-armies with terran go back to the 2011-2012 period and have become quite popular since the upgrades got merged and tanks got buffed (and widow mines nerfed) in HotS. Inno as a Starcraft-genius deserves all the credit in the world for his play, but he didn't invent the style or probably any of the underlying ideas. The game is too old for these revolutions anyways, assuming no fundamental patches hit. + Show Spoiler +The new swarm host is probably the only thing left that you could really innovate with and even with those I have seen quite some games now that make everything *new* probably look like a variation of those plays Well of course I wasn't equating Inno's turtle mech play to Bisu's DTsair play, nor the former with the latter in terms of revolutionary impact (BisuDagger will cringe!). I'm just pointing out how so-called "pioneers" for any style weren't true pioneers as much as they were "popularisers" - they perfect old rare builds other players thought as weak and made them strong till others started using them as the norm. Geez, it's just an example, folks! It's also too early to call Inno's turtle mech as the norm now - give it a few more months (if Blizzard doesn't patch it up). No game is too old for "revolutions". Bisu revolutionised DTsair in, what, >5 years after BW was competitively played? (Which is another reason why Blizzard should leave the game as it is and let the players figure ways out of seemingly imba meta - just like how Zergs are on the brink of figuring out turtle mech) I agree with your points.

Jeeeezus. Byul is my least favorite awesome player (skillwise) and yet by gawd when I saw the look of devastating frustrastion on his face in game four, and Inno manner scanning, I hoped he'd pull through. After the failed roach push in game 5 I assumed it was over and skipped 5 mins to what I assumed was the Inno victory interview. Glad I finished watching that game.
So... Byul moved up some spots for me. Now I'll have to elect someone else as my least favorite really good player... I choose to hate on Dark. Fuck that guy.

Noooo, Dark is cool, and has a very bright smile! Better hate on Dream Bubble Boy.

What an insane series to come back to.
I don't think I've ever seen a player look and play so visibly tilted as ByuL did going in to game 5. For him to win after that, several grueling games, and the awful start he had is nothing short of spectacular.
Pretty crazy that ByuL still hasn't lost a series to Bogus. No other Korean Zerg as far as I know even leads against him in head to head score.

All in all, Innovation played poorly yesterday.Macro was lacking alot, so was his positioning on the map. He wasnt even repairing his turrets... Compared to the games vs life/soo/curious that was not the same bogus

Sick background pictures and animations in ssl. Innovation holding all the cards, hahaha.

Sometimes I feel like Innovation is the new Bomber

That last game was definitely one the best games I ever watched... siiiick. But the series was sickening aswell!!!

So what do people think about TY's chances? As someone who's known him since BW you gotta think this is one of his last chances to finally step up in individuals. Interesting story line for him imo... GL TY

I think TY is a solid underdog to ByuL. ByuL has shown consistent good play against terran for some time. TY can be really hit or miss. He could still win but I wouldn't bet on it.

He'll take two games

I don't see him winning against ByuL. He might takes the first games but ByuL will adapt and end up winning the series. And if he manages to get past ByuL I don't see him winning over Rain of herO either... So yeah I have little faith in him lol, but I'd be so so happy if he proves me wrong!

I think that if TY learns a bit from Flash's mech TvZ, he could have a decent shot...at getting murdered by some of the protoss in the finals. :D

Nice to hear what people have to say about it. Definitely looking forward to the series. Thanks.

I don't get it, the new TvZ is excellent. The new mech style is slow, but never boring, because it is hard to do and positional skill really shines through. It has nuances bio/mine have lost, at least for now.
However, why on earth would innovation leave Byuls proxy gold base up for so long in g5? He could've at least harrassed it sooner than he did, he sat for 5 minutes! 0/3 while meching, and using mass seeker missile instead of PPD in a big fight vs hydras. Also some insane tank clumping at times. Some odd/poor decisions in that game.

Of course I can see that, I'm trying to explain why people are failing to see the beauty of it.
