Cause it doesn't stop the other guy from doing damage unless it's a shiton of turrets. if your answer to an oracle is shitton of turrets, you die to a 2011 4 gate follow up. Blind counters and all. Or they just macro and kill you later. Games between pros are often decided by extremely small factors. | ||

meh last two games were sloppy but he was flawless in the first two. that first game was fantastic. that was basically the blueprint to beat maru's style. myungsik laid it out and rain improved on it. | ||

Becuase by the time you spend 300 minerals on Turrets - You could had made 2 barracks - Those could produce Marines faster - Marines are good for attacking - Terran are an offensive race - You need barracks to produce marines. - You need Marines to be offensive See the logic Im trying to transmit? If you are playing scared as Terran you will come far behind in so many games if you are playing even opponents. Unless you are Taeja. But Maru is not Taeja. He is the MarinePrince. MarinePrinces needs.. Marines? That is my red thread here. I guess there is a reason Terrans dont Spam static defenses early game. A hint: Might have to do with terrans strenght as a race is offensive, constant attacking with cheap units. Like marines. You need baracks for... and so on | ||

I just don't understand pro gamers logic. It's very hard for terrans to get good static defense for the lategame since protoss can adapt how much they commit to harass on the fly (thanks to warpins). So if you leave a lot of defense at home then protoss can just ignore harass and go kill you. Missile turrets are ok to section off parts of your base but a good protoss player like Rain will find any weak spot you leave open. So basically you'll have to get a lot of turrets, at which point it becomes too expensive. Solution is to play like Maru did game 1, stay offensive and don't let your protoss get comfortable enough to harass. | ||
