Yes at least mid game since the medivac boost makes them so fast. Lategame not really since the protoss can still adapt where he puts his supply instantly.
If your doom drop isn't big enough, the warp-ins can deal with it. If it's too big and the protoss player notices it early, they can go for a frontal attack and a big part of your supply is in the middle of the map doing nothing.

Funnily, 2 last seasons have been full of Terrans stomping, specially meching over Zergs. Players have adapted well and this is the result. Terrans have been quite strong, you can see statistics in TL wiki. It's not PvZvPvZvP at all.

In his last 2 streams he pulled the boys exactly once for an attack, and that was against phoenix/colossus to buffer (his army wasn't that big). I wish he played more like that :S
