Whining about Protoss or balance will be more harshly moderated from page 90 onwards. Before making comments on race picking, refer to MLG's rules |

Edit: Oh wtf, Scarlett won vs DRG with Protoss? Wtf is that haha. I don't really know how I feel about this, but not really good, that's for sure. She said she practiced the build, so it's not like she went in with nothing, + DRG didn't know what was coming
How did he not know it was coming? Did he think she would go macro? Scarlett's micro was even pretty bad compared to protoss progamers (obviously). That was just a huge failure by DRG.

Nice that most of the pool play games are on YouTube, hopefully they will upload the rest soon. I wanna rewatch some moments already.
And copy some awesome builds from Trap. <3

He only scouted 2 gates, and her micro was pretty good, she kept pulling back the stalkers and kept them all alive, while slowly picking off queen after queen and killing the 3rd.

I was busy when the matches happened but here we go.
KESPAAAAAA!!!!!!!

i was pretty pissed but looking back trap did play exceptionally well, completely dominating polt. however he's just another faceless korean protoss to me. hard to keep track of them all now because they come and go. classic, dear, zest, stats, trap, and the list goes on and on

I dont share fishjie's opinion, but I don't think it's true that Polt came and went. I mean, Polt is pretty much the last person I would say that about. He's literally been around and hasn't been faceless since 2010 (believe his beef with Jinro started then).

Lol, Zest, Dear and Classic are faceless koreans to you? I can only assume you have never watched Starcraft before.

Disagree, Polt has consistently won or placed highly in premier tournaments all over the world. The dude is rock solid. Meanwhile Dear has dropped off the face of the earth after winning two back to back WCS tournaments. And it really is hard to distinguish between Zest, Stats, Classic, and all the Kespa protosses who have been doing well. Now I have to keep track of this Trap guy as well? sOs I can get behind because he proxy gated twice in a row with 100k winner takes all on the line, and MC because of his personality, but these new protosses are just bland. Wouldn't be surprised at all if Trap becomes a one hit wonder.
|
I was surprised trap dominated Polt like that. But hey that's late game tvp - and even according to blizzard, it's not necessarily a bad thing if one race is favored in the late game and the other is favored in the mid game.

so u are saying u only remember the protosses that cheese/allin like sOs/MC? BUT when a protoss finally decides to play a straight up macro game and end up winning, it is considered faceless. seems to be that no matter what a protoss player does, cheese macro watever, they always have someone shitting on them... -_-
You are probably just calling them faceless because u rarely see them outside of korea, but that isn't their fault really. I'm sure if more kespa players traveled u wouldnt call them faceless

The problem is when Kespa send their terrans, who are widely recognized, such as TY, Bbyong, Flash, they get owned by foreigners. But any Kespa protoss seems capable of winning it all.

On the production side of things, it's definitely a contender for the worst. As for the quality of games though, I would say 8/10. Scarlett beating DRG as Protoss will be remembered for a long time :D

I still remember that one MLG where they had to bring in satellite truck. The delays and downtime for this MLG were nothing compared to that one.

Has anyone talked to DongRaeGu about that game? Loss must've been tough, but I'm really curious what was going through his head when he typed omg.

He was smiling after the game and laughing, and he said it was really funny after the game and congratulated Scarlett. I'm sure he was a little disappointed, but he's been around for a while and I think he's a good sport.

Is there a VOD of Scarlett playing Protoss vs DRG anywhere, free preferably?
