From their point of view Polt does need to be defeated, but why risk yourself first just so the other person benefits (assuming that they consider each other easier than Polt). You want to maximize the chance of yourself standing in the end, not the chance that Polt is defeated by the two of you.
but theres no diff between 2nd and 3rd ................
You can finish alive though quite easily. Depending on who challenges who first, you can dodge a loss vs polt if you really don want to play him.. If you go first just challenge major, and if you win, congrats you tie for another 3k right..?
No, one person qualifies and wins the whole pot. Yolo against Polt is really the best bet atm. I strongly suspect Major will try to take Polt down first, even if he can win 2x Bo3 against Scarlett, he's still 1-3 vs Polt.
If that's the case then my bad. In the openin post rules it doesn't say that though. If anything, it hints at the possibility for more than 1 person to be alive at the end of day 3 based off of the wording.
It would not be that smart to pick Major as Scarlett (or Scarlett as Major) because once that person is knocked out, they will have to go against Polt 3 times.
If Scarlett picks Major first: a) Major loses his last life, Scarlett then faces Polt up to 3 times. [<--2nd Worst scenario] b) Scarlett loses her second life, Polt still has 3 lives, and Major still has a life [<--Worst scenario]
If Scarlett picks Polt first: c) Polt loses his first life, Polt only has 2 lives left, and Major still has a life [<--Best scenario] d) Scarlett loses her second life, Polt still has 3 lives, and Major still has a life [<--Worst scenario again]
As you can clearly see, the only difference between the two are option a) and c). Obviously, option a) is better than option c).

It's just math. There are 6 lives remaining in total, and they've been playing 6 matches a day (should only be 5 today though).

Major has first pick today. Then polt and scarlett last.
I'm pretty sure it's gonna be NA vs Korea today. Scarlett was already planning with Huk and Major to eliminate the koreans yesterday, starting with viOLet. If Major doesn't get manipulated by Polt, he won't challenge Scarlett. And if Major defeats Polt in first challenge, I'm pretty sure Polt will like to have his revenge and will pick him. Scarlett can watch them bleed.

The decision should still be the same, though. Scarlett having 1 life and Polt having 3 is worse than Polt having 2 lives and Scarlett having 2. Though, I suppose since he only has 1 life, he might pick Scarlett and then hope Scarlett and Polt pick each other a bunch until they are all down to 1 life, but he would still end up having to face Polt 1 game regardless (assuming Polt is the last one left there)

They played 8 day one. Math tells me they play the number of matches as there are people since each person challenges one person once

How about Major picks Polt, and makes a giant scene where he challenges Polt dressed up as Zorro, cutting the Z figure on his chest with a sword, hopefully without disemboweling Polt in the process. As this draws everyone's attention. Scarlett uses the distraction to sneak into Polt's booth and hide under the table, biding her time. Then as the game heats up, she disconnects Polts mouse and keyboard at an opportune moment, securing victory for Major and taking down Polt for the first time.
I mean if we're going to go 2v1 we might as well do it right.

majOr picks first. He also has one life left. I don't think he'll risk his last life paying polt. I could be wrong though. He has beaten bbyong before and he could be confident in his TvT. I hope he does pick polt though. I saw their games in the qualifiers and every one was back and forth. They made for incredible games.
I like how you guys are talking about how MajOr and Scarlett are gonna challenge Polt. You are likely right, but I see Polt getting the better of those challenges :D

Probably, but what other option do they have? Either the two foreigners go for Polt all out, or they take each other out and Polt wins even easier.
Not particularly surprised that Polt is in the lead. Best player by far, and he's a nice guy who doesn't really make any enemies. Who would call out good ol' Polt?
My guess is Polt wins with all 3 lives remaining, as the silly foreigners continue to feud with themselves.

Well the format also gives a distinct advantage to the perceived best player because no one wants to risk a life by challenging him until the final day. It also seems excessively cruel to the perceived worst as we have seen with puck xD At least it's been fun for the viewers
