They can exist, its not as bad as the old "GREAT FUNGALS" - but they can be sweet.
I generally only appreciate them if they are done like Keen's EMP's (sneaky ass drop behind the army and KABOOM)
Either that or a well baited flank.
Otherwise, yeh, its a bit of a facepalm call :\
I feel like it's exactly as bad as great fungals. Storms and fungals I can only appreciate in the situations you just pointed out. Flanks or drops behind the army. When it's just a normal engagement I don't like it. Great just doesn't seem like the right word to use, honestly.
Because: VERY UNDERSTANDABLE STORMS or VERY REASONABLE STORMS doesn't quite have the hype to it.
I prefer the old "VERY EQUAL OPPORTUNITY FRIENDLY STORMS"
VERY STRAIGHTFORWARD STORMS
Like, these all are like -quite- not doing it :p
But then again, calling great storm because a player manages to hit 8 terran units with 4 storms is a bit meh as well.
VERY COMMONLY SEEN STORMS!
SENSIBLE STORMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why not just adapt the Khaldor's "soooo many baaaneeelings" into "sooo many stooooorms"

it's not easy, unless your opponent is bad/careless that's why protoss has been doing ht flankings and warp prism ht storm.

yeah but you don't harp about the GREAT MACRO, when a pro player is just macroing on pro player standard. Hitting storms on a regular basis is a requirment for being a pro toss(no pun intended) player.
