Since there's some frequently asked questions, here's a mini FAQ.
Q: Will there be offline matches? A: No. We are hosting teams from 3 different regions, the event will be played online, alternating servers where necessary to keep things fair
Q: Will it be cast live or from replays? A: Live. The viewers have made it abundantly clear over the last few years that replay casting is not acceptable in a streaming environment
Q: Is this a league? A: It's not a league. There are no standings. There are no rounds. There is no elimination. Wars will be organised, announced and then cast. Each war is its own stand-alone event under the same banner. Teams on the roster are not guaranteed wars nor are they guaranteed to play against each other team on the roster (though it would be nice if that happened). We hope to accommodate each team as best we can.
Q: How does the prize money work? A: At present we are looking at offering $500 split 70:30 per War for a total of 10 wars per month, however right now we can't guarantee that there will be that many events every month due to the wide variety of factors involved. That's our "ideal scenario". Increased funding would most likely result in higher prize money for each war rather than more wars per month, due to the time constraints involved for myself and the teams.
Q: Will it also be on Twitch? A: No. The English stream is exclusive to MLG.tv. The exception to this is the Korean cast which will take place on Twitch and will initially be hosted and cast by Golden.
Q: Can you further explain the format. Will both Starbow and SC2BW be used all the time? A: The arcade maps will not be used all the time. In some series we just won't have either of them, that's really down to the teams competing. Some teams such as ROOT and Axiom have players who are very skilled at Starbow and are willing to use it. Others not so much. At most there will be 1 arcade map per war. We will never include both. At present there are two formats we will be switching between.
5x 1v1 1x 2v2 1x Ace Match
and
4x 1v1 1x Arcade map 1x 2v2 1x Ace Match
Each 1v1 and arcade map will require a different player. Players can be re-used in the 2v2 and any player can be chosen for the ace, so there is the potential of having the same player compete 3 teams. That said we feel that the mandatory inclusion of the 2v2 will mitigate the effects of any one star player, since 2v2 is relatively unexplored and individual skill is not as large a factor in that matchup.
Q: Will there be a co-caster? A: Ideally yes but they would have to give their time for free since the budget does not extend to paying for a co-caster. It will most likely be a mix of solo casts and volunteer guest commentators.
All the other stuff I think is covered in the post.

Wow I picked a good few weeks to not show up in map skype. >_>
Excited to see all this, though!

More opportunities to be a ST fanboy? Yespls.

TB you by no means have to answer this, but were all the previous shoutcraft casters paid to be there?
Assuming that thats true, I definitely think that compensating casters is the way to go and I also don't condemn you for deciding to go more solo cast orientated considering that your budget for this event is limited.

The only event that did not have a compensated co-caster was SHOUTcraft America, since everyone there did it for free to support the NA scene.

would be more happy if it was bw+sc2 rather than starbow and sc:bw since both are still having issues. I guess it won't be promoting patch 2.1 though haha

Now if anyone actually wants to sponsor a BW league of any scale, I'll love him/her for it and so will everybody else in the Brood War community!

I have a question for your FAQ - "how can we support this?" (other than with our eyeballs). Specific twitch channel subscription? (and which? yours, MLG's, some new one?).
edit: p.s. I love the individual war format. Avoids the troubles that plauged NASL when a scheduling conflict resulted in a walkover which resulted in a lot of disillusionment and caveats around everyone's scores. Scheduling people who want to be there & can be there seems like a great system.

I'd like to watch this for the sheer interest I have in watching pro 2v2 matches =P

The account on TL is mainly used for announcements, it's barely ever checked. The smoothest way to get our attention is to contact one of our sc2 managers if it's about SC2.

Might I suggest you check the most visible account for the team on Teamliquid in future for PMs regularly? Lord knows what you'll miss if you don't

I am pretty sure you can find willing amateur cocasters here on TL. Might be risky though because they might not be great, but I am sure if you call out to TL you'll be able to get a bunch of community streams

Sounds really good, looking forward to this although 10 clanwars per month seem a bit much to me, don't really see 10 viable spots with wcs, pl etc "blocking" nearly every primetime slot of the week once they all started.

Wow, great idea and I have to say I am looking forward to it! Keep the awesome work up, TB, you are one of the most innovative minds in our community and have the power to make your ideas reality.

I really like the 2v2 part! but TB, please inform yourself about proper 2v2 maps so it doesn't end in a complete rushfest like in the PL pre season.

You should probably have a look at the 2v2 map the guys designed for this. It's specifically designed against that very thing.

With WCS only airing 2 nights a week, we're not gonna have any problems. Proleagues times are completely irrelevant, we'd never cast at 4am EST, we're shooting for US-friendly times here, ideally not too late in the EU either (so looking at around 4-5pm EST or so onwards for a 2-3 hour event). I think you'd be surprised how much easier it's going to be to dodge WCS now that Blizzard got savvy with their saturation.

Well I'm incredibly excited for this. Much love, TB
