He seemed to be caught really off guard with that timing push.

He split up his army too much. He didn't have any banelings near the fourth and had to trickle units up the ramp.

Its not one long series during the entire tournament. THe final is the final

But because its double elim WB winner is suppose to get some sort of advantage. He is given none while Life is given a free second chance.

Okay I just read your signature so now it makes more sense you keep bringing this up. The advantage he had was Life had to play more games. The final resets the score, so obviously it is not 4-4.

Bias aside that isn't a fair advantage. Life gets a second life. Taeja doesn't. How is that fair?

He has more time to study his opponents and has to play less games. Of course that is an advantage.

One less game, but actually, being able to rest is really important

TvT is arguably the best match up in the game. It's clearly the best mirror. ZvZ and PvP probably worst match ups in the game. TvZ is pretty good but I wish we saw more varied compositions. WoL TvZ before BL infestor was the best match up SC2 has seen yet in it's history.

cmon Life, shouldn't have lost that. He keeps on allowing Taeja to just take a third and once that's taken, Taeja is able to keep flooding him with units and trading well enough. I think Life should all in the next game. Maybe a roach bane bust or something.

Ok but that applies in almost every tournament. Its a double elimination tournament meaning you have to lose twice. Taeja can lose while only losing once. Meaning because he won the WB finals he is taken away his life. Its not a huge deal he will probably still win but it clearly isn't the most fair of setup

TvZ is definitely action packed. Although, my biggest issue with TvZ is that it generally has the least amount of variety of any of the match ups (game 2 notwithstanding). I'd say 90% of the time it's muta/ling/bling vs. MMMM. Although these are exciting games one of the things I enjoy about the other match ups is you never really know what direction they're going to go.

Dreamhack for some reason always has luck with its finals. So good.
(Probably dual elim has something to do with it, gives it that much higher probability of the most deserving players advancing).

He didn't get a second chance, he was pushed down to the LB where he earned a spot in the GF by beating Patience. What if Taeja beat Life in group stages instead, should he then also get an advantage from that? The upper bracket match, and the grand final are separate matches and it makes no sense to add their scores together. Both players knew the format and played accordingly, so it cannot really be unfair.
