MMA, Ryung and Alicia are now the first 3x GSTL champions in SC2 history. Interesting to note how each victory for them resulted in an ace match victory (MMA over Mvp in Game 9, MMA over DRG in Game 9, and now Innovation over Supernova in the ace).
Innovation was truly the MVP though. He led his team not only to a Proleague Championship, but also a GSTL championship. Unquestionably the best teamleague player period.
Axiom-Acer...the Greatest Team in the World!
You haven't watched Taeja's domination in IPL TAC3 have you? And the teams were much stronger.
Results and Championships. Innovation led Soul to a Proleague Championship, and he just led Axiom-Acer to another GSTL Championship. Getting the gold is really important. Plus, the competition at the Proleague level was insane, because PL was the first priority of all the Kespa teams. Furthermore, all the matches were played in a LAN setting.
Don't get me wrong, Taeja's run in IPL TAC 3 was amazing and inspiring. If only Liquid could have supported him better. If he had been on any other team he would have won that tournament.
Imo, Incredible miracle were a much stronger team in 2012 than any team there has ever been in SC2 and Taeja went 7-1 against them and had carried them to the finals and would've won if it they didn't have to win 2 bo9s. Even HerO, their second best player only went 3-4 so Taeja's accomplishment was more impressive as Innovation had Dear, Trap, Hyvaa etc in STX SouL and MMA, Ryung, Crank, Alicia, Impact. And Startale, Prime, SlayerS, IM were way stronger than most teams nowadays.
Anyways, Innovations TvT is looking really strong and grats to Axiom-Acer.
The KesPA teams (before the collapse) would have thrashed any of the teams you mentioned.
My nonexistent team can beat up your nonexistent team

IM would fuck there shit up! Get out of here! Only Woongjin and STX were comparable. Kespa finally lives up to the hype with them joining. See you and your pack of victims next month in SPL, aka IM's 9-month (?) parade of win.
...I really can't wait for SPL :D. GSTL just wasn't the same without the two best teams
Wish GSTL and PL would just combine and they split the casting between KESPA/OGN studio and Gom. It would be so epic! You can even combine weaker teams but a 9 month period of the best players in the world going at it ^_^ it would be glorious

Yeah, not covering GSTL was really disappointing. It would have been cool to see a finals preview
Yeah it's a little jarring. I mean it was one of the best GSTL finals in a long time (though I am biased) and also the first time a foreign owned team has won any GOM event in the history of Starcraft.

that's true and I feel weird that I didn't even notice it. would have loved a preview, as always, especially for an event that has the hype of mma+ryung+innovation. but maybe that's just me.
(ps I was at redbull this weekend, you're awesome)
I'm pretty sure innovation tightened up his tvt and now he will have over 75% in all match ups next year. Damn This Guy Will Be Unstoppable again. I can't see innovation not winning all the gsls and season finals as well as blizzcon and all foreign tournaments he enters next year.
Never have i had that many nerdchills before, so intense
Best finals of 2013 thus far. This year has had a lot of one-sided finals. Hell, we've only had 5 Premier tournaments where the finals went to the ace match, but this tournament's finals takes the cake.
