So what counters Mass Viking/Cloaked Ghost?

Tempests, Observers following your Colossi. It also helps not to enter lategame massively behind; if people think 10 macro OCs 180 army size is the norm for each lategame TvP, they're fairly deluded.

Tempests are terrible against Vikings.

Hence why Tempests transitions are perfectly standard in lategame PvT?

They'll be back when another Protoss win happens, don't worry.

Did you guys watch the same game I did? Taeja was far far far far far far far far ahead all game long, but couldn't close it. Don't get me wrong, Rain did play superbly surviving for so long, but that game I'd argue T should rather be complaining about than P defending current TvP balance.

Im not seeing a reason to complain when all that I see is Terrans beating Protoss and Protoss beating Terran.

"couldn't close it" is probably also not necessarily accurate. Its more like TaeJa being okay with patiently waiting for the safest point to crush Rain at.

No, because if you misstep trying to close it you can end like Alive.

Taeja could have had to misstep pretty fucking hard to lose that. Like, eat Storms like he was a fat kid at an ice cream buffet.

It's not like we haven't seen games going that way. You should consider watching Taeja's TAC3 games last year against Seed for example.

Kespa players dont care a lot for individual tournaments, they live and die for Proleague, IMO

Say something similar about non-kespa and you'd be banished for bullshit.

Well its kind of obvious, you see Kespa paychecks and they are far FAR ahead compared to non-Kespa players, and im pretty sure with that kind of money you are bound to care more for proleague.

A lot of individual tournaments are called off by Kespa players because they have to play proleague (im pretty sure Innovation didnt go to MLG, even thought there was a high chance he would have won it)

Wasn't it Boxer who did this first in excess at GSL season 2 or something?

Also I've been joking that WCS season 3 will be in Canada and I just learned it's true!!

Boxer vs Hyperdub Shakuras Plateau

Haha, yeah I remember Shakuras, Boxer was on the top right side of the map I think, remembering the Hyperdub makes you a God, where is your source, just great memory?

The protoss has to make sure to not to lose 3 colossi, get his nexi sniped over and over, then soft contained.

The orbitals were a result of taeja dominating rain. He completely outplayed him that game.

I never said anything about how to get into this position or anything. I just said that if protoss for some reason lets terran get into the mass orbital thing, they lose cause there isnt much you can do about basically "free" maphack, especially in this matchup where slow moving units and their positioning are key.

You've gotta be joking. That game was over for 20 minutes because Rain had terribly low economy. At one point he was on one base while Taeja was on 3 with tons of Orbitals behind.

Rain played horrible and lost that game due to his stubbornness to actually expand. He kept trying to expand towards Terran. He should have been expanding upwards. It would have forced Taeja to walk across the map to try and deny/pick off expansions. Rain could have further delayed and set traps by leaving Templars in the path in that direction.

The sad part is that Taeja had to wait so long to kill Rain because of how ridiculously strong Protoss 200/200 army is in PvT.

If anything, that game displayed how ridiculous Protoss is that it can live for 20 minutes on 1-2 bases against a massive Terran economy.

I play Protoss, so no bias here.

This...a hundred times this :O

Otherwise...amazing and inspiring play from Taeja!

And I play mech, so no bio-terran bias here

I'm speaking of Mass Viking/Ghost in particular. No Marines, no Marauders. I've played against it, and I've never won.

If Terran reaches that point, Protoss dies.
