Some potentially very entertaining ones as well. Dear and Classic - consistent and both very good at the mirror against sOs and Flying who are well, not consistent. Those two can either show up with bonjourno play, kill you with the funkiest strategy you've ever seen, or just kind of self-implode. All three are entertaining, usually.

true, but during the last period of korean bw, before the switch to sc2, soulkey and bogus were among the top players for their respective race. its not totally surprising that those two are doign well in sc2.... its more like... surprising how inconsistent the likes of lash, fantasy or jangbi turned out to be.

Is it odd that the SPL final schedule wasn't mentioned during the OSL RO4 casts? Maybe the Korean casters mentioned it, but I didn't hear the English casters say anything about it.
I understand that the GOM casters don't mention SPL because it's a Kespa thing, and Blizzard doesn't mention SPL because they only hype events that give WCS points, but I thought OGN was handling the SPL finals and would use OSL to cross-promote. I wonder what percent of the potential audience knows (or cares) to check TL or Reddit for SC2 event info.

This will be so anti-climactic. All the hype and build up for just your typical Bo7 PL format match. I'll stay up for SK vs Innovation and then go to bed.

I guess they figure that if someone has any interest in SPL they'll either take the minute-or-so required to find out when the finals are, or have heard it on the numerous recent Proleague casts.

Ask yourself what you'd rather see: a GSL/OSL final stretched out over 2(3) separate Bo7s, or a single one. This doesn't kill hype, it creates it. It may not be fair to Woongjin, who aren't allowed to lose whereas STX could potentially have lost 2 Bo7s and still be in, but if past finals are anything to go by, it'll certainly not be anti-climactic unless it ends in a one-sided 4-0 stomp, in which case nothing could have changed it anyway.
