The thing is, Terran doesn't need any buff right now. And making more strats viable is a pretty strong buff in itself, other races have to be ready for more stuff. It would probably have to come with some kind of nerf. I'm not sure they would be willing to fuck up Terran as it is now just to buff mech :D

Buffing Mech doesn't have to affect Bio the two are completely exclusive playstyles.

It doesn't work like that. Every viable strat you add to a race, no matter how independant from the already available options, is something more your opponents have to prepare for. For example, let's say that some matchup is at 50% winrate but side A doesn't need to invest in scouting options because they know what side B is doing. Add a completely different offensive option to B and now A has to scout, hence possibly shifting the balance.

It's good for variety, but not so straightforward for balance.

By that logic, this game should have EXACTLY 1 playstyle that's viable per match up and players are only allowed to play that style every game in order to ensure the best possible balance we can ever have.

Please spare me. You can have your cake and eat it too. This game can have more diversity and still be balanced. Brood War managed to do it, WoL in its earlier iterations managed to do it. HoTS can do it also.

Pushing for more diversity in order to stave off the kind of metagame stagnation we saw at the end of WoL should be a priority. It's better for the players playing, and its better for the spectators. It just improves the game.

I'm just saying that Blizzard just won't "go for the obvious needed mech buff" while they can barely figure out how to balance the game as is. And remember, they tried to push for mech with HotS. It just failed, unfortunately. Maybe for LotV, but you won't see some huge mech re-design before that imo.

They half-assed their supposed "mech focus" in the beta.

I was there, I submitted thread after thread of feedback and suggestions, I was one of dozens of Terrans doing it on just the NA forums alone.

They didn't listen to any of the feedback we had regarding the difficulties facing the Siege Tank. As far as they were concerned unless we were talking about how bad the Helbat was in early beta they weren't interested in hearing it.

100% agreed with that. Plenty of people, myself included thought the Hellbat was bad just by conception, regardless I didn't expect it to be QUITE so silly as when they actually released the beta.

Can we add nexus cannon to other silly lazy ideas?
