Game 2: Daybreak
Soulkey is at the 7:00
Roro is at the 1:00
0:00 No early pool from either player. Slightly different OL timings but both just making drones 2:00 Soulkey goes for pool first followed immediately by a hatch Roro drops the hatch first then gas then pool 3:00 Soulkey now getting his own gas Both players making queens and drones for the most part. 4:00 Soulkey starts speed Roro is banking approximately 150 gas Soulkey starts the baneling nest. 5:00 Roro droning up hardcore 6:00 12 lings from soulkey just before speed finishes. sk morphing aggressive banelings 7:00 sk pokes with banes and lings, gets a detonation and kills 12 harvesters. immediately drops a roach warren and 2 evos 8:00 Roro getting lair, 3rd and 4th gas sk getting his third hatch and manages to run lings in to scout the main.
9:00 Both players scout each others bases Roro has a 3rd now
10:00 Roro starting 2-2 and mantaining a slight upgrade lead Roro pokes with roaches but doesn't accomplish much at the nat of sk
11:00 sk goes for a large poke with his entire army then moves toward the third sk gets chased back since roro has more roaches
12:00 sk engages again at the 3rd with more roaches than roro hydras join the fight but die quickly w/o roaches
13:00 roro does hold at the end of the day but sk took a good trade.

hmm SK should've sniped the hatch then ran back
|
OMG, how the hell did Roro hold that.

SK has great micro. Very, very few Zergs do what he does (obviously lol) even though it's "just" target firing.

i swear back in the good ol days i remember of 2011 amazing tournaments like MLG GSL world championships, the golden age of SC2, it was like maybe 30% of games were mirrors
now its like 50%. tapdancing christ i hate how its heavily luck determined whether a tournament produces amazing entertaining brackets, or "eh" brackets filled with mirrors
I understand bracket fixing is seen as bad, but what about keeping randomized brackets but it would be randomized with a twist, it would attempt to keep mirror matches at 30% or less, and people would be randomly decided whether or not they are the ones forced to get a mirror....
i mean i dunno something needs to be done. this constant mirror starcraft is becoming unwatchably boring for me
i usually just tune into semi finals / finals now (assuming theres no mirrors) and watch that
i understand mirrors need to happen. but its just constant now.
look at this RO8. we have 4 mirrors........... but with a nice little random number generator making the brackets trying to create some non-mirrors and randomly determines who gets mirrors, we could have only 1-2 mirror matches Winner of Group A faces loser of Group B and so on, so it was pure luck that determined these brackets. Look at it this way, all mirrors in RO8 means no mirrors in the following matches. Plus, you never know, might be some nice matches.
ive seen enough PvP and ZvZ im sure most people get snacks or watch TV or something during those mirrors. TvT is sort of entertaining maybe ill bother to watch that
i really dont care how exactly the brackets were determined, my point is all i know is what was produced, 4 fricking lame ass mirrors when we coulda had 4 non-mirrors with a random number generator
i dont care how the brackets were determined, my only point is this just seems to be a constant theme in the top tournaments that theres like 50% to 100% mirror matches sometimes in fricken brackets.
i dont care exactly how the brackets were produced, all i know is what i see... 4 fricken mirrors.... ugh....
i understand mirrors need to happen but its just......... it just seems like it happens SO MUCH MORE than i remember in 2011 starcraft

Nice use of contaminate. I love it.
