Depends a lot. If you just take the games out of context and only care about each game separately... well, frankly, even then they are not that bad, to be honest; the rushes had interesting little details to note, like that drone detection in the first 2rax etc. On the other hand, if you rooted for Soulkey, like me, and if you appreciate the mindgames that were going on with the pre-match talk and the way the games were going, it would have been an amazingly exciting series. For me it was one of the best series I ever watched in terms of entertainment.

Yes, after a zerg flooding in the end of WoL, we can't seem to have a protoss nor a Terran win GSL since summer 2012.

Currently a 5 title streak, with 4 different zerg, and only 2 terran, one protoss runner-up.

But people complain about the hellbat, and protoss is just the forgotten race of SC2. Bleh..

And watching 70% all-in is quite boring compared to back and forth macro games. Incoming baneling roach busts every single game on the ladder. Thank you Soulkey.

Don't blame Soulkey for something that Symbol awoken everyone to over a week ago

If it wasnt sub 20 minute games, people would complain about how long and drawn out the games were.

The finals arent individual games, it is a series of 7. The entire series was amazing to watch, how it began and then how it unfolded.

For WCS EU and NA they are, GSL still isn't...

Btw, that series was terrible, except for the last game, but I must say, WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW!?

Yeah exactly (I mentioned similar in the below response too hehe) - the series itself was pretty epic. It went from AMPED to "oh wow this is a shame, 4-0 so fast..." to "haha.. innovation bleeds before he wins" to "omfg game 7?!" - it was a roller coaster for sure.

You counter 3 CC/2Ebays with roach bane. You don't counter 3 CC with macro game when you know your opponent is THE BEST at drops and is up by a score of 3-0. Questions?

It's not a question of players making the right moves, Soulkey adapted and Bogus paid the price for not adapting in turn. He took the win he deserved. However, I saw the first five games live and every one of them except the game on Bel'Shir was a pretty open and shut game where the outcome was never in doubt. This was one of the few finals in SC2 so far where I cared little about the outcome since I'm not a fan of either player or their teams and just wanted to watch some close and exciting games. Unfortunately, I got a snoozefest.

I was kinda ironic about Soulkey part in this (well, not that ironic on the fact that this is gonna pop even more on the ladder).

Of course it was a good decision by Soulkey, and he's rewarded by a trophy, you can't blame him for that ! ^_^

It's a bit disappointing to see the 2 best players in a finals and having to see 5 games out of 7 being just cheeses or timing attacks. This had so much potential to match the Mvp vs Squirtle finals which still stands as the most epic one to date.

Too bad we never got to see that fighting on all fronts all out slugfest brawl kinda match like the two had in the latest pro league team ace match.

Sad I missed the finals, but I agree with everyone you should not blame Soulkey (maybe Inno for the first several) for the all-ins. When Inno is going 3 CC and 2 Ebay, being greedy, you shouldn't try to macro with him when you KNOW you have a much better shot at winning with a roach bane bust. Sure he MAY have won the macro game but why risk it? If something increases your chances of winning the championship you do it. You don't look back/care what it takes. Inno played greedy, soulkey adapted and was rewarded with a championship. This is how you play vs greedy terrans that try to dictate the game... Not by letting them, but by taking back control.

The great thing about watching live is you actually feel the suspense. It was a pretty tense final and pretty exciting considering the circumstances. Soulkey was all but counted out until he made his comeback. Even at 3-3 people were thinking Innovation would take it in a macro game. But he didn't.

You don't get that feeling in VODs.

Sure, the games were somewhat lousy, but the series was exciting.

Greedy macro game =/= back and forth macro game. A macro game can happen while not featuring greed. Geez.

It peaked at 50+k.

But there were also viewers on afreeca, around 150k. This is unverified though. Someone mentioned it and I remember it being a reliable poster.

It was also shown on Korean TV. Gomplayer also doesn't count to these numbers.

Probably, but the three others were either pretty decent (Sniper/Hyun), really really good (Life/Mvp), or the best goddamn GSL finals of all time (Mvp/Squirtle). It's not like the worst final of all time or anything.
