And again, the 19th of 21 GSL finals have started 2-0.

You don't come back from 2-0 against Innovation. Nobody can press the advantage like he does (got a few all-kills in his pocket).

I like this quote.

Well can you blame for that?

I probably could if I wanted to. But I don't.

I'm actually not surprised at how dismantled innovation looked in game 7. It is infinitely harder to defend drops in multiple places then it is to attack in multiple places - if only because reacting is slower then initiating - and that same weakness was displayed when flash decided to hell bat drop innovation. To be honest I expect for zergs to start doing better against innovation in the future when they stop allowing him to dictate the game and actually move out of there base to harass him.

The 4th and 5th games are worthy watching if you are a zerg wanting to know how to exploit greedy terran play, they were quite educational, considering Innovation played the cards he was dealt as perfectly as anyone could and still got stomped.
Overall I give a "if you have nothing else to do/time" for the whole thing.
So... what that make you? Good? You're not good. You just know how to hide, how to lie

Because he should have won. If he went tanks as he should have, because it's safer, he would have been fine. Finer, anyway. He also had a mad throws last game.

A considerable amount of people in the chats and in here seemed to seriously consider that there was something arranged in this final. Let me tell you: when people really arrange such things they don't make them look ridiculously suspicious. No, in those cases you won't even be able to tell. On the other hand, reality has proven time and again that it can stir events that the human brain refuses to believe are not prearranged, exactly when they are not. It's a flaw of our pattern-finding brains. If you show actual random sequences of numbers to people mixed with prearranged sequences that "look random", people are more likely to accuse the actual random sequences of being arranged by humans. They don't believe how true randomness forms patterns spontaneously.

Isn't this like the 4th Zerg champion in a row? Life, Sniper, Roro, SoulKey . . . What's up with all the random Zs winning once and then being replaced by another random Z?

Sniper is random Z, others not.

Don't worry, this GSL didn't really mean anything anyway. It was mostly a test of who could more effectively all-in more than anything. Soulkey is better at it, by the way. Plus, the upcoming weekend is a tournament with an even larger prize pool. Shouldn't we care about that one even more?!

Innovation's reluctance to build tanks to defend cost him the games I guess. Mines just aren't as effective in defending when the zerg knows how to deal with them. I suspect a player like MVP would be able to make such an adjustment to his play between the games, Innovation couldn't.

Also, seems Innovation might be slightly overrated in the foreign community. Nevertheless, he'll be a champion one day for sure.

LOL first of all. Maybe you should check his recent stats in pro league, look at his vs Z record minus vs Soulkey, and also keep in mind that he is the GSL runner up and made it to the ro4 last GSL before calling someone slightly overrated.

First of all, you can be the best in the world and still be overrated. That's something a lot of people don't understand it seems.

In the foreign community the discussion was more about with what score innovation is going to win. Some thought 4-0, some 4-2, some who liked soulkey said only 4-3 to innovation etc. Very few thought soulkey would take it. People had the idea that innovation was perfect in every aspect of the game, and had nothing that even comes close to a weakness.

Among the korean casters, two of them gave the edge to soulkey and only one of them to innovation. They said something along the lines of him having issues with his defense sometimes, which we definitely saw today.

With that said, I do think he's been slightly overrated in the foreign community. At least he's human and not the perfect player everyone made him out to be. I also think he's the best player in the world, despite the fact that he lost.

So...does this final have the unenviable distinction of being the worst final to go the full seven?

I don't think anyone honestly took this GSL seriously. It's the first one after HotS came out. It's broken to hell right now.

I believe I posted this after the 6th game, but you shouldn't have 6 games with 2 of the best players & not end up using this many units:

So basically Bogus doesn't play mech and Soulkey doesn't like to tech.

I don't think this series is anything to go on in terms of balance or what have you, most of the games were all-ins.

Yes, after a zerg flooding in the end of WoL, we can't seem to have a protoss nor a Terran win GSL since summer 2012.

Currently a 5 title streak, with 4 different zerg, and only 2 terran, one protoss runner-up.

But people complain about the hellbat, and protoss is just the forgotten race of SC2. Bleh..

And watching 70% all-in is quite boring compared to back and forth macro games. Incoming baneling roach busts every single game on the ladder. Thank you Soulkey.

You counter 3 CC/2Ebays with roach bane. You don't counter 3 CC with macro game when you know your opponent is THE BEST at drops and is up by a score of 3-0. Questions?
