I would rather see a few vipers because that means there are a few less ultras on the field. | ||

Once a big number of Ultras is out though tanks also are not exactly what you want as a Terran unless your in an really entrenched position which on most maps these days barely exists. Tanks don't splash against Ultras , can't move die very fast. | ||

If you send over overamount of army to defend, then Terran can just pickup and send to another spot. Offensive drops with medivac boost will always beat a defensive zerg, unless you have mutas, static defense, or maybe a lucky infestor fungal. There's no defensive advantage because you have to react to his drops, which means army into your base, and he can the Terran can position that drop anyway that is advantageous | ||
