HP is also quite similar, though tempests are obviously better once the colossi have died. Tempests take a long time to make though and have a heavier investment cost, Grubby should have exploited that by using his range colossi earlier and/or expanding faster. Hm well you safe to robo bay cost, but yeah Grubby could've played better and I am not saying having Tempests is a free wins vs Colossi or something, but I don't think your statement that it doesn't work is true either. I just think it can work, just as corruptors can work or maybe even better. Edit: Also you can force fights, which is nice I think.

True but a main difference is that Tempest has a siege advantage over Corruptor. And they can still siege even though you pull those Collosus. Unlike corruptor which you have to rush them in to fight the Collosus and the toss player can target fire Corruptor and pull back Collosus. So they are more supply efficient.

And even the threat of Tempests basically removes the Broodlord as anything other than a very niche unit against Toss. They don't even need to build them, just their existence in the game means that BL ZvP is basically dead. I don't really see what makes void rays good in PvZ, can you explain that? I love when protosses make void rays against me, means they have less resources for units that are actually a threat.

I don't know what makes them so good specifically but I've seen mass voidray win a few times already. For example, Stats defeated Soulkey in proleague very recently with it.

Yeah but it's more the suprise factor they are good for, it's not like the unit void ray is better than other protoss units against the zerg if zerg scouts. Void rays are good against armored units, and zerg doesn't have that many armored units.
