The crazy gas/mineral income creates a really powerful 3base roach-hydra-corruptor timing. And Jaedong just decides to try and play a macro game with an all-in composition. Fun fact: If you replace the corruptors with vipers you'll have the same timing but cheaper and better! ![]()

If this game would have been about skill he would have won. But it isn't. It's just dumbed down to: Build the hard counter or lose. Bah game. User was warned for this post

So you don't think vipers are superior in the composition?? + Show Spoiler + just kidding, love you ♥

He picked a right build on a right map against the right opponent. And then he thew it away. That's what makes people sad the most, I think.

This just doesn't make sense, he could have had near the exact same timing with 2-3 vipers instead of 8 corruptors, and with what he had scouted, he should have known to do so. The gas income he had would have supported it just as well, and even if it was slightly slower, he knew he had plenty of time after delaying the third forever and scouting the army size over and over. There was no excuse to even TRY that timing, much less commit to that composition.

All he needed to do was make a few vipers and pull all of the void rays under his hydras, then it's gg because the corruptors would actually kill the colossi then and not die to the VR. He could have won so freaking easily from his position. All he has to do is kill off a decent amount of VR / colossus and it's gg right away because of 2 base toss a lot of the time. Agreed. Sad to see him lose from being far ahead for most of the game. Catz and Artosis both agreed on State of the Game you should never go Corruptors against Protoss anymore (you should just tech to hive right away). The only scenario where you should go Corruptors is either against mass Tempest/Carrier, or if you have a Spire already (from Mutalisk for example) and need something quick against Colossus. While Corruptors are still good against Colossus... the new Void Rays just melt Corruptors too fast . Someone tell this to Jaedong, quick!

Vipers with abduct on those collosus and blinding cloud on all the stalkers would of been so much better; but this is all in hindsight

No spreading, basically he just went forward, got forcefielded, donated some stuff and retreated, when he should have tried to flank or JUST TRANSITION. Honestly, there is no amount of micro that could have saved him there. With VRs, colossi and force fields, you need other units. Better units. JD didn't have them, so he lost. Most diamond tosses could probably have won that game if they took over from Stats in the last minute or so.

He should not have waited for the added corruptors, but if he tries to tech to vipers, he loses the gold to VR-colossus, and he did not set up for late game. He had 6-8 corruptors vs 2 Void Rays, 2 Colossi, and Zealot-Sentry on the ground with 1 or 2 stalkers. Stats' forcefields zoned out the roach-hydra, but the whole ground army of JD survived. If he'd sniped the Void Rays, he would have had at least 4 corruptors left over and an overwhelming amount of Roach-Hydra. Without the Void Ray support, that army dies. It's not all-in because you have to do damage. It's all-in because you cannot hold that gold in a macro ZvP without perfect lategame tech setup.
