HotS ZvP IMO favors Toss a bit more. Since they can now actually go the late-game and also still have powerful 2 base all-in to rely on.

Standard spawns
I think the other spawns are pretty Z favoured

Are you implying HotS made ZvP better for zerg?
Where have you been?

You are speaking about his WoL score, in which zerg had to go broodlordherpderpfestor, which is a style which DOESNT fit jaedong at all.

It's really more of the style in which Zerg plays in this matchup now. The turtle into deathball stuff doesn't really seem to suit Jaedong.

i know this is a little late, but i am kind of angry with HuK. he did a warp prism build while streaming about 60 percent of his games vs terran. I know he could have been trying to mind game, but it seems really stupid. its not a common build at all, and showing it so often in practice probably reminded light of something he has to watch out for.

A lot of people forget that and just auto-pilot. It's kinda sad.

This that style is imo why jaedong struggled in zvp.

The charge was uselesss against that army, almost no armored units
i know. the other part of what i said is the more important.

Because voidray charge was started so he had to use it. Else his voidrays would be useless.

Plus the chargalots will kill the VR's accompanying ground army most of the time and then you're free to run away from the Voids if you're fighting away from your base, running into the VR players base and wrecking havoc with your surviving chargalots. The DT opener really opens up a lot of this, also allowing earlier upgrades and all that good stuff.

Aria vs Jaedong
The map is Korhal Floating Island Weird map name but I pretty cool intro. I think it's cross spawns only on this map.
0:00 Aria spawns in the bottom left position. Jaedong spawns cross map in the top right position.
4:00 Jaedong goes Pool first while Aria goes for 16 Nexus and 17 Forge Jaedong then takes his natural and builds 4 Lings Aria builds a Gateway and Cannon but the 4 Lings get into the main before the cannon finishes

Void rays are so ridiculous in p vs p that it's hard to even conceive of losing if your opponent doesn't happen them. He's probably going over the replay to make sure his units at the standard amount of HP because it's probably the first time it has ever happened to him. No. Sitting in Psionic Storm is not good in any situation ever. Period. 99/100 times if you have void rays and an eco adv, and your opponent is relying on ht... you just A move to demoralize him as he realizes that even A move, no care in the world, still steam rolls him. Void rays are too good. Don't blame JYP. First time it happened to him. A) sOs had the economic advantage, being one base ahead B) He wasn't relying on HTs , because he was on the verge of losing, he was having HTs as support-caster to his army C) heavy archon composition D) barely any support for the void rays and no micro I don't see how you would want to argue that this fight was anywhere reasonable for JYP All I can say is I've been in a lot of fights like that and the A move with void rays has never ever lost. At worse you usually end up with red health void rays. You would never expect to lose that game, regardless of void ray micro. Void rays are so good. It's near impossible to not develop bad practice habits like that.
Dude this is pro level. Mass voidrays works well at lower levels because of the lack of micro at those levels. I see pros go HTs/archons to counter voidrays all the time and it works because voidray is slow as hell.
|
You know, voidrays are halariously bad against non armored units with armor upgrades. Against light units they have 12 dps with a 0.5 attack speed. Each point of armor reduces a voidrays dps by 2. So guardian shield reduces the voidrays DPS by 4 then most protoss units have +1 armor by default reducing it by a further 2 points. So essentially you end up with a voidray doing 6 dps(same as a sentry) to a light unit.
Which is why halariously 2 sentrys micro'd can beat 1 voidray.

There is no English broadcast to say, they just restream the korean main one and put the casters over it. well in any case, those hp-bars are just not very viewer-friendly. No offense but we are all well aware of that.
It's Blizzard's fault. There shouldn't even be terrible options like this in the game. It will invariably lead to people picking it without realizing it is strictly inferior. It's surprising when someone responsible for a broadcast does it though.

You're acting like voids are fast like phoenixes and did not also have archons on them.
