Still don't understand how it is such a viewer hit. To be honest I completely fail to understand the hype around lol, and I've played it a lot. Yeah it's free, easy and spamming spells might be fun for few months. Actually something was funny when everybody in LR was whining about broodlords infestors being boring, and saying that's why LoL was more attractive. Well, in a LoL game nothing happens, just 10 dudes last hitting creeps. And in the end you have impressive score like 12-6 in 30 minutes. This is the real boredom. I don't get it. LoL (beside skill ceiling)feel empty, long and there isn't real possibility of coming back. It's just pale near Dota 2 or Sc2. And I don't even want to compare it to BW or Quake. Basically agreed with what you said. But comebacks are more likely to happen in LOL. Comebacks being more likely to happen isn't exactly a good thing. Them being rare is what makes them special. I think it really depends. Just look at Dota games for example, if one team are getting denied in early farm for too long, the game is basically a slow and painful death. And the game might just be really one sided all the way till finish (and the game usually lasts like 40 mins+) Having a BIGGER chance to come back means that we can always expect the game to change and we all waiting for that moment and see how it all reveals But simply the graphics is what I don't understand. The animations look so weird, to me it's like everyone is slowly wobbling over the screen in LoL. I think anyone can watch 'the play'' bij Navi from Dota2 and even though they don't have a clue what is going on, it will still look impressive. But with LoL highlights I don't get that vibe at all. You need to play a lot. You need to understand which effect every spell has. The spells don't speak by themselves. Their design is focused on create impact and express power/awesomeness. SC2 is a more elegant, though. A LOT more elegant. SC2 needs exposure. You actually don't need to play a lot to enjoy watching. I have friends that played only the campaign and a few multiplayer games, but it still watch some tournaments. LoL doesn't have this. Everyone watching pretty much plays a lot. I've attempted to watch LoL on many, many occasions, and play as well. And basically, I feel like LoL is Dota on an excessive dose of sleeping pills. They slowed down the game to a crawl, and in the pro scene the games really have little action. The first stage of the game is the most boring, because of no denying and how easy it is to avoid ganks when you're at least a little versed in the game. It's way too slow for me, Dota is more dynamic. Also from a metagame standpoint, LoL is stagnant, while Dota keeps changing, which makes the picking phase and lineup analysis more interesting. I personally find LoL early game to be more exciting than Dota. While there is no deny creep, there is constantly a fight over bush vision which I think is great

Yes, because Blizzard is controlling what will players do. New units aren't bad at all, players just didn't experiment with them much to know the timings, openings and how good those units really are.

He did but it did not come out until the game was already lost. I'm no protoss expert but I would've thought that would be an essential unit to make if you're going for a greedy build like that
you can't be greedy if you get a MsC, cuts in tech and eco at the same time. Basically the first thing to delay for as much as possible unless you want to attack with it.

Well done Blizzard. Oh yeah medivac speed upgrade, I forgot xD New Ultralisks, new Medivacs, Mothership Core, Oracles (&halluzinated ones), Mines were very often used. Nearly in every longer game. And we also have seen Viper, Swarm host, Hellbats in this tournament. What I take from this atm is that the WoL to HoTS transition is not as big as was expected
what did you expect? That everyone was exclusively going for the 2-3 new units? Of course people will still play mostly with the 10-15units from WoL...

Those oracles would have melted so fast if they had been targeted. Such a weird game from Dream.
