This time it took close to no time at all, and the match seems really close to me. It's, in fact, pretty damn good to watch.

Stephano's 35 game ZvP winning streak ended to Titan doing this build on Antiga back in February. Immortal Sentry has been around all year, and zergs have been complaining about it all year. It only got really bad when Protosses started saying fuck PvZ and only Immortal Sentry All-inning.

I don't know, make 10 gateways instead of 8 then, so when you do use warpins you can spend more of your money?

it is all about the timing; 10 gates would throw the timing off and wouldn't be as potent, you can only support 8 gates off of two bases.

the point is as soon as he lost his forward pylon, he needed to realise he wouldn't be able to warp in as much, so each warp in needed to be bigger, so he should have made ~2 more gates

It's so risky to go back to your base and build 2 more gates, even with the APM of a pro gamer. you look away for two seconds, miss FF's and you lose.

Then learn to put down gates faster (like Parting would need more than 1sec). Learn to watch minimap. Learn to react. Learn to recognize when you are in minimal danger. This is supposed to be the highest level of play surely we can expect Parting to be able to build 2 gates just like we expect zerg's in zvz to inject and tech during ling-baneling wars.

I don't think you understand how much micro and apm goes into these pushes, you don't have time to go back to your base, and you never have your camera leave the area where your units are once you start fighting unless you need to make pylons to un supply block yourself.

then play faster so you can do it

immortal all in level 3, build 2 warp prism and delay the observer a bit (no pylons needed and micro still possible). Level 4 is building 2 immortals at home while fighting and bringing them in with the 2nd prism. (moar dakka)

The original reason was it slowed things down. The fastest version requires you to rally the first WP already.

The slower ones seem to prioritize the observer for creep-cleaning and burrow shenanigans.

Basically, robo time bottleneck.

Build another robo?

I'm not saying that's impossible, but at that point it's a pretty major rework of the build, and I suspect it would miss the really thin timing that Parting has found (Infestors impossible without major corner-cutting or saccing a base).

Yeah, because they practice 12 hours a day. I'm sure "playing faster" would be simple on that already extremely high level of play.

Maybe if you are just a regular master league player, but at this level you can't afford the time or resources. Parting's push to a large extent relies on a very thin timing which means that infestors are impossible or very hard to get out (you either need something like 5:30 lair or to sacrifice a base or a bunch of units). There is a reason that even other GSL code S protosses have a hard time replicating Parting's success.

huh...his minerals were skyrocketing...he couldn't get a probe out...he can't get a proxy pylon up

parting relies heavily on micro (warp prism micro) and if he can't do that, his push is a lot weaker than not having 2 zealots with his army

and I haven't seen that many code S protoss replicating Parting's Immortal/sentry all-in if that's what you referring to...success well never questioned his success

That sounds viable (and extremely cool), but as someone above mentioned, there are human limits to apm.
