Hmm I always cheer for the foreigner when he play against a Korean but this time I am thinking of cheering for Hero, thinking Hero vs Taeja could be good final. Monchi vs Teaja? Probably not...

really because Nerchio has 3 tournament wins this year, and Scarlett has 2....and Scarlett beat Nerchio in both their recent meetings (WCS and RSL).

I dont think that argument really holds. Maybe if you look at the whole career, but then I think thats irrelevant. Its like calling huk the best because he won a bunch of tournaments in 2010-early 2011.

WCS NA is not tournament with high level competition, what other LANs has she won ? And fact that she has better ZvZ than Nerchio does not make her better player overall.

Yeah. It is ridiculous. ZvZ is so volatile. You cannot assert that one can beat someone in ZvZ 2:0 and consequently be considered a better player, even in ZvZ.

I saw those two games, and the first one was bizarre in the fact that Nerchio for some reason let a hatch he was attacking live with only 1hp. He did not even go back to snipe it. Also, it was broodlord vs. broodlord very late game. Neither player was very familiar with that scenario (as Nerchio explains in this interview).
+ Show Spoiler +

The other match he simply made a series of bad calls that left him with no defense vs. mass muta. It happens to everyone in a while. It was not like Scarlett beat Nerchio 3:0 in three decisive games.

Scarlett additionally, has quite some ways to go to prove herself in the progaming scene. She has just arrived with her win over Nerchio, but other than that has not really done anything to assert her position. We will see in the future, but for now, I don't think there is any real debate here.

Well to be fair, oftentimes Taeja's macro looks pretty much flawless.

IMO the top foreigners are low GSL Code S level (Naniwa made the round of 16 three seasons in a row, I think). But Taeja is one of the top 10 players in the world. Taeja's multitasking is just amazing, even among Koreans. No shame in losing to him.

Foreigners are more like code A to be honest

way to generalize

Yeah, sure some are Code A, but it's a huge generalisation. Most are Code B.

Dude Code B Koreans are generally really good.

Isn't like everyone Code B, including me and you?

Actually you need to be at least KR High Masters to even qualify for Code B, so no

Don't they make (or at least made) an exception for non koreans that was that they just had to be in Korea to participate in the qualifiers, thus making any non korean code B?

I presume they'll only do it if you're at least a somebody or Masters in your region.

I don't think so you have to at LEAST win something big like Nerchio/Mana/Stephano

There is always a comparison to make between people that play the same race, it just comes down to stylistic choices.

Gotta do something while there are no games.

How do you dare to state Nerchio and Scarlett have similar achievements? Scarlett has basically no achievements at all.

http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2012_Ritmix_Russian_StarCraft_2_League_Season_2 (wins over bomber, feast, nerchio, Vortix, lost to Leenock in the finals)

RSL had some of the stiffest competition and included nerchio + Koreans. She finished ahead of every top Euro. Just because she hasnt had the opportunity to go to events yet doesnt mean she isnt as good. Every tournament they have been in together, Scarlett has finished ahead of Nerchio. who's better based of previous results.

My point isnt that Nerchio's achievments arent better. Because they most certainley are. I just dont believe you can qualify

You realize the whole RSL tournament was played on the NA server?

lol ok. The classic starcraft excuse "we can discount the win because of cross server play". There is really no point in arguing I suppose.

Do you know Monchis PvT? I don't, since we haven't seen any of his in this tournament.
