really because Nerchio has 3 tournament wins this year, and Scarlett has 2....and Scarlett beat Nerchio in both their recent meetings (WCS and RSL).
I dont think that argument really holds. Maybe if you look at the whole career, but then I think thats irrelevant. Its like calling huk the best because he won a bunch of tournaments in 2010-early 2011.
WCS NA is not tournament with high level competition, what other LANs has she won ? And fact that she has better ZvZ than Nerchio does not make her better player overall.
she's only entered the MLGs and IPLs where she was put out by code S level koreans, kind of harsh to judge her lan performance when she plays the best players every time

IMO the top foreigners are low GSL Code S level (Naniwa made the round of 16 three seasons in a row, I think). But Taeja is one of the top 10 players in the world. Taeja's multitasking is just amazing, even among Koreans. No shame in losing to him.
Foreigners are more like code A to be honest
way to generalize
Yeah, sure some are Code A, but it's a huge generalisation. Most are Code B.

More like Taeja atm is low code S level and foreigners are maybe code A at best.
on topic: Happy Taeja won, at least now infestor ZvX snoozefest as finals now. No PvP finals is good as well :p
No way Taeja is low CodeS level. He just lost early this GSL, that shit happens, look at everyone that is even in CodeA right now. He made the Ro8 three times in a row or so before. Taeja is easily a Top10 player world wide.
GSL is a different beast. Some people here don't realize it, or don't want to realize it. You need to be in top shape for a full month + your opponents have time to prepare for your playstyle. Taeja wasn't able to win GSL when he was in his best shape. In my opinion, you can't be labeled the best terran, zerg, protoss until you win GSL

Didnt she lose to Daisy at MLG? While I like him, he isnt exactly Code S

Lol no. Most players in Code B are better than majority of foreigners.

to be polite, NA tournaments are not that stacked
Well I agree to an extent (although I dont think WCS poland is any better than WCS Canada, basically 2-3 good players in each), But given that she has a winning ratio against Nerchio, I just dont like the argument that achievements are everything.
That is why nobody actually counts WCS Poland, only Homestory and DH as Nerchio's wins.

Dude Code B Koreans are generally really good.
Isn't like everyone Code B, including me and you?
Actually you need to be at least KR High Masters to even qualify for Code B, so no

Code S > Code A > Code B > normal battlenet ranking (Grand Master, Master etc.)

Taeja hasn't been playing well the past 1-2 months by any standard. Had some wrist trouble or something?
Indeed. Taeja has been slumping last couple of months and him beating foreigners here at DH doesn't really show he's out of his slump. This is a pretty easy tournament for pretty much most code A/S koreans to win. Competition level isn't ESWC bad, but pretty close to it.
Taeja is the best Terran I have seen recently. His control during engagements is so crisp. Getting the most out of every fight gives him the edge over every Terran I have watched recently. I will be surprised if he fails to win this, he already has beaten the next best two players in this field. If either Hero or Monchi wins this then it will be an upset.
Also Dreamhack showing why they are the best. They show on stream what time the next game will be played AND a clock showing the current local time. This should be standard for every tournament. Watchers should not have to scrabble around trying to find out when the next match is going to take place and they should not have to perform time-zone calculations in order to work out what the scheduled time actually means for them. Show the local time so it is easy to see when the next game is - 10 minutes or an hour and 10 minutes away atc.

To be fair daisy has no purpose in the world except to beat foreigners, wonwonwon out scarlett and moonglade. Forfeit vs first Korean gg no re.
